I just transfer them off her phone. Plus her SMS's. I never thought you could get so many SMS's and have so many pictures that you would be unable to receive mail or messages but that happened a few weeks ago.

I still haven't figured out a good way to upload to the cloud automatically. I'd love to just upload them all to google drive if anyone knows how.

I have the same issues as your wife, but I'm on an iphone. I am now considering the sony z1 compact since it has a good camera and a micro sd slot. If the next iphone does not have up to 128gb capacity at the current 64gb price or lower, I'm switching to android.

I'd love to do it with google since adding another program into the mix isn't making my life much easier than just attaching the cable and downloading them to the computer. If it was google drive though it would go where everything else we have is stored.

I am 99% sure that Drive doesn't have that. Its one of the main features of Plus, Google wants you to use Plus, I just don't see them having that feature on Drive.

Just use Plus. It works great. Picture storage is the only thing I really use it for.

Z1's are very nice.

I'm waiting for Verizon to have something worth my money to upgrade my Note 2. 2 of my contracts are up in a few months, if they don't have anything by then I'm going back to Tmo where I can use whatever the hell phone I want.

And so I embarrassingly enter this thread again to say that my original Nexus tablet gave me the low storage error yesterday. No pictures or videos on it. 3 movies at a total of 5GB. Still trying to figure out what is taking up so much damn space. It's not apps.
Was busy at my daughters school last night so I didn't get a chance to really dig into it.
Frustrating. 16GB storage is a crime.

More than likely just apps and Android. I have 16 gigs of internal storage and only have 3 gigs left. That is with all pics, videos, etc on my SD card. 16 gigs just isn't a lot when you look at the size of some of the apps and games now.

I can help you figure it out if you download the android sdk's platform-tools to get the adb binary or if you download a terminal emulator app from the store. If you use IRC hop on freenode and ping me (utkanos) and I'll step you through it.

You can also use adb to pull files off the device to your local PC without wasting bandwidth in uploading them.

SMSbackup+ is good for automatically backing up your SMSs. It backs them up to (and makes them available through) Gmail. It will restore them to whichever device you want as well.
If you want to back up your SMSs and use Gmail it's a no brainer.
