you did say you would chip in $6 for beer.

she baught the beer and you were late.

you still owe her the $6

pay her back and stop being friends with her. she does not need a friend that is willing to cheat her out of $6

does it matter you didn't get any? not really. you were late and the beer was drank. you made an agreement to chip in on beer and now trying to stiff her and you are made she is pestering you? sheesh.

i guess ou need to figure out if this friend is worth $6. you made a promise to HER. yes you get screwed. but you should make sure she understands that you are only paying because you promised and you do not like getting screwed by her roomate. hell say it in front of said roomate.

No, he was asked to pitch in. In every party I've ever been to people collect money from the folks there for a beer run if they are relying on folks to bring cash, otherwise how are they to kno whow much to get?

Man law: He wasn't there, he doesn't pay ;)

he agreed to pitch in. he owes the $6. Is it fair? no. is it right? yes.

his friend baught the beer. he agreed to pitch in. someone is going to get screwed. him or his friend? h ow much of a friend is she?

shrug. i know what i would do. pay it but tell her and her roomate you do not enjoy getting fvcked around. yeah its only $6 but it is the principle of the thing (but my friends woldnt do that).

when i go to a friends i always pick up a 6 or 12pack at least. so i get my share heh

I see your logic, but what if they decided to buy a lot to drink and said he owed $60. I dunno, I read the story as 'if you come can you pitch in for beer', but that is probably just because thats how I've always seen it done.

so she went out and got some kind of special brew from another shop? when the OP simply said i will pay for beer (ie any beer)

easiest solution is to just shut the bitch up by wrapping 6 dollar bills round your fist and punching her in the mouth.

generally when we do this chipping in for beer we chip in before and send a crack team out to tesco to bring back the loot, then its either completely consumed, or whats left goes towards the next party or say if u have a un-opened wine bottle left you take it home or leave it there.

at no point do you get your money back. you may take your alcohol home if you wish, but if you leave it then you dont get reimbursed. though generally with my mates if i leave booze at their house its still there for me when i come back. everyone shares anyway so really no one is entitled to take stuff home becuase they already got their share (ie pool money together than we'll buy so many beers, the spirits and wines and mixes and then everyone just helps themselves at the partay)

just get 6 $1 bills, get an envelope and post the mumfucking $6 to her

Plus I thought any alcohol left over from the party belongs to the host irregardless of how much the guests consume?

Yup.

That said, the situation still seems rather odd.

QFT

OP said he'd pitch in and that's that. Both are sort of being wierd about it. Still having my share of parties when young it always sucked when a half dozen of the people that were there and drinking and said they'd be part of the cost split suddenly leave and forget about their responsibility.

Can't say it gets better as you grow older. When I go out to eat with a mixed crowd at one table, I expect to simple split the bill equally among all people there. You get idiots with 'advanced math skills' that think a couple should count as one share not two, and then half the time someone simply doesn't want to tip.

There are about 150 pennies to a pound...should be about 4 pounds...you can priority flat rate it for around $4 in the US.

you did agree to chip in for beer, just because you didnt show up doesnt mean you can renig on your promise. as far as not getting the beer you agreed to chip in for thats your problem you shouldnt have agreed to chip in if you had a hot date prior to the "party".

just mail the 6 bucks. send it registerd mail or fedex so she has to sign for it.

problem solved and one less stupid headache to worry about.

:0 Actually the extra would probably just cover the postage, but still worth it.

Send it COD.

Actually, I think he owes her the money.
