if i weren't into computers i'd call you pathetic and a loser.

now relate this to people tho like to modify cars

What the CL poster has done is equivalent to mounting a Zalman 9900 on a 486 DX/2 running at 66MHz.

This is a modified car.

This is a piece of junk.

opinions with no clear line drawn. what if i had a pentium D with LN2 on it clocked at 8ghz?
so the guy trying to sell is AMD x2 3800 Toledo from 2005 w/ water cooling in it is a big fat loser with a piece of junk...

see the argument? just because some of the AT Garage folk don't like to modify cars, they bash it. how'd u like it if people bashed you for having an overclocked computer with an LED fan in it? wow only losers have LED fans in their computers.

I wouldn't tell someone the specs on my computer unless they asked. It's not as though I have them listed in my sig...now that would be pathetic. 😉

you're pathetic for responding with something that makes no sense. losa😉

Well, when he says that it "grinds a bit going into 3rd", I assumed it was a manual. A manual that is on its last legs, but a manual. (Seriously, how do you screw up the 3rd gear synchro before the others? 2nd gear is almost always the first to start acting up.)

ZV

The 2-3 upshift is a more intensive move, so you're more likely to start letting the clutch out before you're engaged. 1-2 is just a yank down.

...any guess which shift I miss most often at the track? Truck trannies were never made to be shifted quickly.

Interesting. My experience has been that 2nd gear goes faster than the others in almost every case; especially among street-driven cars because it tends to get rushed due to it being a straight pull back.

What you say does make sense though, wish I'd thought of it. 🙂

I'd tell them that the LED fan was cheaper and had the same technical specifications as the non-LED fan. There was no functional reason to choose the more expensive fan.

Similarly, the theoretical AMD x2 3800 with water cooling was, at one time, a very fast machine and, if overclocked, can have a legitimate need for water cooling. Again, the modification has functional value. Also, the price for which the computer was being sold would be important too. If he was selling it for $1,500, the seller would deserve to be laughed at. It's not a $1,500 computer anymore.

The Neon was never fast and never handled well. The modifications performed have, at best, severely limited functional value. In the case of the headlights and the wiper, there is, in fact, negative functional value. The car is worth, at best, $1,900 by blue book. Asking $3,500 is insane. The car is simply not worth what the CL poster thinks it is.

No, this is more like a Celeron 300 with peltiers being held on via duct tape and zip ties. And extra case badges.

No matter what ill-fitting body kit, no matter how much tacky Pep-Boys garbage you slap on that piece of junk, it's still just a Neon. Not to mention ugly as all hell.

He also doesn't say how many miles it has, or whether it is manual or automatic, or provide any pics that give you any real sense of what the interior looks like, other than that awful stereo and stupid flat-bottom steering wheel.

First transmission on my Honda had 5th go first. Then 4th. Then I replaced it.

I don't mind modified cars nor do I mind overclocked computers. I don't personally own either but it doesn't bother me when people do this. My bike on the other hand has some mods. 😉

However, when someone does a bunch of completely useless mods on a worthless pile of junk like a 10 year old Dodge Neon and then tries to sell it for what he thinks it is worth you can expect me to comment on it. 😛

That sounds high to me. He stated there is rust on the trunk, the turn signals don't turn off, the fuel gauge doesn't work, and the transmission needs work.

Eh, KBB "good" condition is about $2,000 assuming 80,000 miles. $1,900 is probably high given the issues, but I'll bet there are people stupid enough to pay that much, even for a car that has obviously been abused.

"keywords: tuner, custom, rice burner, pimped, honda, dodge, neon"

guess how many of his keywords made me LOL.

That junk is just as ricey as those cars. LED fans, "gaming" cases shaped like monster skulls, case windows, and neon's to deck that phat 1.4 GHz P4 yo.

A "modded" car is an SRT-4 with some nice wheels, rust free after market rotors and real Brembo calipers, after market exhaust, FMIC, and a Mopar stage 3+ turbo system pumping out some 400 HP and maybe a professionally installed custom AV or navigation system.

This thing is garbage that was assembled with super glue and 3M double sided tape. I tried to LOL but then barf leaked out of my mouth.

He's missing the fake Buick port holes. I'm sure that would have been next if he wasn't in such urgent need to sell.
