Ride Review: 2004 Ducati 749S

Fausto, step away from the bike with an engine. That is a motorcylcle, not a BIcycle.
I had both for several years. Unfortunately, I only have time for one these days and the bicycles won. I'd rather be fit than have a cool moto and be a fatass. 😛

I actually like the 916-998 body style better, but this is such a badass bike underneath the skin.

Have one of your work buddies that does statistics talk to you about cycle accidents & fatalities 1st...

🙁

Cycles are on my fun, but goddamn, it hurts when you crash list. And lets not go into the whole you're a parent now & shouldn't be doing dangerous crap like that...

Pretty much everything up to this bike has looked good IMO. This body style is kinda weird.

Yeah, it looks fat, and the front end is weird, and the headlight sucks, and the 999 is just as bad. You'd think the Italians should be able to outdo the Japanese, but they just aren't doing it.

It and the 999 are essentially the same bike other than the engine.

I agree somewhat, but so many of the fatalities could have been avoided if the rider actually wore the proper equipment and drove defensively.

This is true. A lot of bike accidents are due to n00b/stupid riders who think t-shirt and sneakers is going to save their ass when they fall. On top of that, a lot of people don't ride even remotely defensively.

That said, even the best riders can get taken out by retards in cars and it's not going to be pretty when it happens. It's all a question of where you personally draw the line with regard to "acceptable risk". I honestly always felt safer on my moto than I do on my bicycle.

Yep, the day I was on my way home from teaching a MSF course & got cut off by some b1tch & woke up in ICU with 5 broken ribs, a left pneumothorax & a compound fracture of my lt humerus made me re-evaluate my hobbies🙁

That sucks 🙁. At least you are alive, but that might(most likely be) because you were wearing your safety gear.

All I was getting at is that so many of the fatalities are due to carless riders.

droollll...........mmmmmmmmm.....Ducati.......

I still think the best looking ones are the 851-888 body style.......also the 750ss in that same era w/ the 1/2 faring and the V-twin showing saying "HELLO!"
