He went on a hot-air balloon ride with his friends and unfortunately it began to fall. So to lighten the load they tried dumping everything including their clothes. Still no help.

So they decided that one person has to jump to save the rest and that is how they drew straws. The dead guy had the short one and is lying naked and dead from the fall.
