Every cat had seven kittens,
Kitten, cats, sacks and wives
How many going to St Ives?

give up yet????
Since the man and wives couldn't possibly carry all that weight, they weren't moving very quickly. But, they could very well have be moving towards St Ives and you were simply walking faster than them. Answer: everyone was going to St Ives.

I am not about to give you the overplayed (and not necessarilly true) answer that they were walking away from St Ives and only you were going that way.

Also, the man is not included in the question. Is he leaving his wives?

Beware is one word. Not two.

That's the answer to the riddle.

The answer is also 42.

Also it doesn't say how many giraffes are on it either.

10990. 224 legs per sack * 49 sacks + 14 girl legs.

Only 1 is going to St. Ives -- you.

The others are escaping madly from St. Ives and the horrors found therein.
