My rig is getting a little old and I played at low settings but this game really impressed me. I was shocked when is was over after only about 10 hours of play. 5 disks long and only 10 hours of play? I hope part 2 [if they make it] is a little longer.

Haven't played yet... but looking forward to it.

What impressed you the most about the game?

Here's what I liked:

The stealth is simple, but fun. It's not very complex... it's mostly "run from this shadow to some other shadow" in order to sneak up on guards, but somehow it remains fun throughout the entire game. This is likely due to the variation of scenery.

And that's another thing that I liked... you're not stuck in one place for an overly excessive amount of time. The entire game basically takes place at a prison, but it never feels confining.

Also, the gameplay changes with each new locale. One may have you fistfighting, another may have you sneaking up and breaking necks, and yet another may have you running with guns a'blazing.

Finally (only because I need to head to sleep), I love the massive number of checkpoints. It's really, really a nice change from many other games.

What I didn't like:

Perhaps a tiiiny bit too short. This goes right along with the fact that you never really get a nice, long opportunity to blow up everything in your sight with your guns. If they added even just one more level/area of gunfire, the game would've been complete in my eyes.

10 hours for that type of game isn't bad

5 cds is for the graphics and all that....not just how much of the game there is sometimes.

I remember when games used to have almost a week of playtime in them when you bought them.

I liked the game a lot. So many great levels and they always seemed to keep the gameplay fresh. The voice acting was a little weak, Vin's lines lacked any type of emotion most of the time.

That's how Riddick is supposed to sound. And Diesel is oh so good at delivering those cold, dry lines IMO. :)

agreed . . . the game blew-away the movies in their voice acting, plot and production.

My GotY for last year . . . it's ONLY fault being too short.

It was a game with what seemed to me to be a completely differnt play style. I don't know what it was about it but it was "different". Maybe that you can snap guards necks if they aren't paying attention and that the emphasis was on hand-to-hand combat rather than run and gun. It was a cool game!
