Anyone else excited about this game? I can't wait. Whats cool is that the developer is remaking the first Riddick game and will ship both the first and new one in the same box. Two games in one. This is especially good for me because I haven't played the first game yet and have only heard good things about it.

Preview of the game.

I am very excited!!! I loved the first one, definitely a game that went under they radar. I think its cool that they remade the first one as long as added a sequel and multiplayer to it. Should be a great game.

I want this too, and I also never happened to buy the first one, just the demo. Also keeping an eye on "Prototype."

Umm, did you ever play the first one. It's nothing like Doom3. It's not just pop out of the dark suprises. There's actully a story and reason for things happening. There is action sequences, mech driving, all kinds of goodness.

Yes I played Doom 3 for about 4 days then just threw it away (friend traded me the game for a medium tower computer case)

I've always been more attracted to open world games or games set in outisde environments, not inside buildings etc like Doom 3and Stalker.

I played the first Riddick game for a few days. not bad, I might give this new one a try

Damn...same with me, didn't really end up playing DOOM 3 after some levels, found no inclination to install it on my PC even afterwards. But Butcher Bay was just great. I've played it twice through.

I've never played the Thief games, but so far, Riddick is the only FPS to get stealth RIGHT.

Picking this one up on release day.

the counter-attacks/quick deaths look absolutely brutal in this one. I've been watching all the previews as they're released, and the game looks just as amazing as Butcher Bay.

One thing I never figured out in Butcher Bay... can you do the same type of counter-attacks/quick kills as are featured in Dark Athena? I assumed you could, but didn't know how.

I know what you mean. As far as I remember, I couldn't really get any quick kill feature in Butcher Bay. I remember hand to hand combat (punches) with the brass-knuckles.

Btw, I found a little interview about Dark Athena here.

Damn, looks pretty sweet actually. The CGI Vin Diesel seems to be a better actor than the real life one, which is a nice bonus.

You could do the instant kills in Bucher Bay :) Looked wicked when your enemy had a shotgun :D Riddick was putting the enemy's shotgun to the face, the dude desprately trying to force it away and BOOM HEADSHOT :D Can't wait for this one!

How did it fly under the radar? The game was plastered everywhere when it was released. I remember seeing it all the time on TechTV.

If you sneak up behind people, you can get quick kills. It wasn't hard to kill people 1v1 if you got close to them, though. Riddick's a badass in melee.

Yeah, that's kind of an odd statement, lol. The Thief games are THE stealth games for reference....other than say Deus Ex maybe. It's Like saying the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles are the best rivalry in sports.... but I've never seen the Redsox / Yankees. :D

This game had great Stealth. If I recall correctly there is some type of stealth meter too.
