I like the premise but would prefer a prequel, I want to know the background of the Furions and what/how their race was made extinct

They talked about in The Chronicles of Riddick. Necromongers came to convert the planet and kill the rest.

No monster will ever be as cool as blind hammerhead flying pterodactyls. Not super intelligent sharks, not vengeful intelligent plants, not even snakes on a mother f'n plane.

You are mistaken, Grasshopper. The coolest monsters ever were these:

Loved the games and the movies.....Including the short Dark Fury.

I am playing through Escape From Bucher Bay, haven't gotten to Dark Athena yet. So far it's pretty fun.

CoR was good. However it did feel like Riddick walked onto a totally different sci-fi set.

To me Riddick is the coolest character Vin Diesel has played.

Fuck yeah I love Vin Diesel! I thought he'd become the next big action star ala Arnold, Clint, Sly and the like but he seems to have faded.

Only way it'll be good is if it's a prequel based on Butcher Bay. CoR was Hercules: The Legenday Journeys in space.

LOL......Well........That's not really a bad thing considering Hercules is cheesy, yet fun. ;)

Now if Bruce Campbell was with Riddick. That would be awesome. :D

Vin Diesel is a cool dude. He funds/produces or at least playsa big role in all the movies he does, and you can tell he's in it for fun. He's apparently a big World of Warcraft fan, and is working on his own MMO.

Please tell me this is a sequel to CoR so I see how badass Vin Diesel is as the
Necromonger Lord Marshal
.

CoR was Hercules: The Legenday Journeys in space.

Actually, the scifi tv show Andromeda was Hercules: The Legendary Journeys in space. It even had Kevin Sorbo as the lead.

I liked CoR even though nobody would call it a great movie. It was very entertaining to watch.

Loved both films and enjoyed them for what they were. Would also love to watch a couple more now that they've opened up that universe to see more details about it and the effects riddick has had on it.

I thoroughly enjoy watching Pitch Black (aka Riddick 1, I guess?).

I also enjoy watching Chronicles of Riddick (Riddick 2?), but, no matter how many times I have watched it, I just cannot understand what the hell is going on.

haha I remember leaving the theater after watching COR not understanding so much of what happened, but still loving how it ended. Yeah a lot of it didn't make sense and it's easy to get lost in the speed/vastness of everything but things like the Necromancers and the symbolism of the knife that keeps finding its way to Riddick were real cool. It's on TNT a lot lately and I always find myself leaving it on if I catch it.

if we had some more knowlege of the backstory that movie would probably seem better to many, which is one of the reasons i'd like them to put out more movies on the subject.
