Ricoh CDRW/DVD 12x/10x/32x/8x or Plexus CDRW 12x/10x/32x ?

Ricoh has burn proof technology called Just-link
Plexus also has burn proof technology.

Which is more reliable?
Do both drive really have the same guts?
Which is actually the better buy??

Sorry about putting accidently putting the Poll, I'm a beginner

You mean the Plextor?

Supposedly JustLink is a better technology, leaving a gap of only 2 microns instead of 40 microns as in the BurnProof technology.

I have not seen the Ricoh 7125A model available yet though, and I doubt there would be much software supporting it.

There was also a website somewhere comparing the actual burn quality and error rates for various CDRW drives, Plextor had the lowest error, 0-3, while Ricoh drives averaged 12-16. I just can't find the link right now though...:(

I would go with the Plextor drive.

According to CDRW Central, BurnProof has had its specifications updated to match the JustLink Technology and leave only a 2 micron gap instead of the initial 40 micron gap.

I picked up the new Rich from Buy.com in a failed pricematch (darn Onvia!).

Prassi (the shipping software) and Nero work just fine with it. To date 4 burns (2 on the same 4x CDRW, erased in between; added a session to a 2X CDR; and Half of a "new" 8x CDR), 3 in Win2K with the other burn in Nero. Zero problems and I don't think JustLink ever kicked it (I was trying to force it by surfing and whatever else I could). Haven't tried DVD yet (I have another DVD drive in the system, as well as a home theater unit).

Here are a few links on the Ricoh:
