Did any of you even read the article? Or did you just read the headline and make your own quick judgments?
"Falling off the wagon is part of rehab," a source said. "Based on the medical evidence in Ricky's case, the doctors say it's too early to come back. He had the positive test last month. Remember, he's been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder -- that's a real disease and a good percentage of those folks self-medicate with substances like marijuana, often at the moment they are about to have a high level of social interaction."
Ever stop to think that maybe he CANT help it? No matter how hard he tries?
Sounds like the excuse that an alcoholic would use.
for every quack that will find a justification for it, there will be another that will state the opposite.
If he wanted to stop, he could easily arrange to ensure that no one around him has it and that friends that care more for him than his money/status would assist in preventing it.
He knew that he would take a drug test, yet still did it.
He may be hoping for someone to take pity on him.
Also, there are legal drugs that have pacifying effects. I'm sure there's some legal ones he can get himself or be prescribed by a doctor. The only excuse some might have is cost, and that's obviously not a problem for him.
Those drugs are probably even worse for your body.
So much worse that it's worth losing millions? I don't buy that a man who could afford anything had zero alternatives to using marijuana. Or that the difference between this and everything else legal is so striking that it made this worthwhile.
Um, I never said that they are "so much worse that it's worth losing millions." Thanks for playing 😉

I didn't say you said it. Please notice the question mark at the end of my sentence. That means I'm asking a question of you, it doesn't mean I'm attributing a quote to you.
If your answer to my question is no, then your statement about those drugs being worse for your body is pretty much irrelevant. I was making a point that he had good alternatives to smoking weed, so that the medical excuse is a copout. If you agree that there are drugs with similar benefits that aren't significantly worse, then we have no argument. Thank you for allowing me to play.

Actually, my answer does not affect the relevancy of what I said. I was making a comment about the drugs, not about whether he should use them instead so he can rake in money. Thanks again.

How ****** hard is it? If you're getting paid millions of dollars and the rules say DO NOT SMOKE WEED... not to mention that they do DRUG TESTING. How ****** stupid can you be?
Pot-heads aren't known to be the most intelligent of all people...you've got to be pretty ****** stupid to smoke it in the first place. To need a drug to enjoy life...sheesh...go enjoy it straight why don't you?

Why this is even an issue is beyond me quite frankly. It's not as though weed is a performance enhancing drug. Why does the NFL care if he smokes weed every now and then?

I'm sorry for being unclear. I meant relevancy to me. I thought you were disagreeing with my statement by quoting me. When people on this forum quote you and then bring up a counterpoint, it usually means they are disagreeing. Since it still appears that you aren't disagreeing with my statement, we have no argument. I freely acknowledged your point that other drugs he picked could have side affects equal to or greater than marijuna.

One must be stupid to use a drug in the first place?
Gee, I guess we're all idiots for drinking any amount of alcohol. Oh darn.
