Ricky Williams Interview on 60 Minutes Tonight

*I'm a fvcking crackhead and gave away my athletic skill and money because I'm a lazy 'tard who likes to get high*

That's the whole interview.

He acts if OTHER people have the problem, and what he did was just so he could find happiness. He could have taken his suspension, fulfilled or bought out his contract and then been done with it. He just had to do his own thing. That's what he said the entire time. He wanted freedom to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. In the process of doing that he cost the Dolphins a LOT more than 8 million, aggravated thousands of fans, cost his teammates money, and got his Coach basically fired. That's bullsh!t, but he is too much of a pansy to admit it. He tries to project on to others that their dissent is due to them being slaves to a stereotype of an NFL player. It just pisses me off. Not that he throw away his fame or money(that's his right), but what he did to others. He could have gone about it another way, but his selfishness(by failing drug tests and then quitting) led him to this place. He won't even admit that he quit. He says retired in a joking manner, but he couldn't get away with it because the 60 Minutes interviewer busted it on him. Really sad and sickening at the same time.

jealous much?

Think about what he did to his teammates, his Coach, his owner, his fans, and really the NFL. He could have done what he did in much fairer way. He made a commitment to people. If he was unsigned I wouldn't give a damn what he did.

I would buy that argument IF the NFL had guaranteed contracts. The ONLY thing a team owes you is the signing bonus. Even if you sign a 10 year contract the team can cut you anytime they want and not pay you.

BTW ever wonder why RBs that have promising careers leave early (Jim Brown, Barry Sanders Robert Smith)? I think they get tired of having to deal with the whole golden handcuffs thing and get out while they can still walk. Anyway Ricky Williams has some psycological (sp?) to deal with before he becomes a functional member of society.

All those guys did it for different reasons. I understand your point about not having the same type of contracts that MLB have and being able to get cut at any time, but he SIGNED that contract, which means he should have fulfilled it. Those that don't have any guaranteed money sign it knowing they are taking a risk. However, an injury or the like would be a respectable way to retire or leave. Not just leaving and screwing everyone over.

I agree that what he did was utter BS.He let a lot of people down.
My main argument is that even if the team signs a player to a contract the team is not obligated to honor it. There may be thousands of stipulations in a typical NFL contract but unless you have a experienced agent the team owns your soul and can and often does cut players at their whim.

The guy is fvcking wacked out. I caught some of the interview and his thoughts/beliefs etc are just way out in left field. He should really just end his life.

Exactly who did he hurt by quitting? He would have been suspended this season anyway.

i think he would've been suspended for only 4 games instead of the whole season.
