"On occasion scientists working on the nuclear program in Iran turn up dead. I think that's a wonderful thing, candidly," said Rick Santorum at a recent campaign stop in Greenville, South Carolina.
But it isn't just dead Iranian scientists that gladden Santorum's heart.
He continued: "I think we should send a very clear message that if you are a scientist from Russia, North Korea, or from Iran and you are going to work on a nuclear program to develop a bomb for Iran, you are not safe."

See video in link.

“We have done it; we have done it for American citizens. We are concerned when someone is producing a nuclear bomb that can be dropped on the state of Israel or provides a nuclear shield for a country which spreads terrorism with impunity and changes the face of the world,” he said.

Not so concerned about dropping a bomb on the USA? This man is not fit for presidency.

Tell him that I think when zealots who wish to impose their religious sanctions on the population as a whole get bumped off, it's a wonderful thing. Get back to me with his response.

It never made it into the Bible, but I heard Jesus was all about killing scientists (as long as they're foreign).

Don't really see a problem.
This guy was developing nuclear weapons for our enemy.
His profession is irrelevant to his assassination.
It is a wonderful thing.

So every scientist, engineer, manufacturer, etc. in the U.S. who might be connected in some way to defense is fair game for other countries too? And the taxpayers too, since they are funding everything.

Iran might be to weak to try something like that, but other countries (Russia) are not going to take any shit from us, so to speak.

I gather from your post that the assassination occurred for reasons other than those we've associated with the event. IOW, you have some insight into what motivated the assassination and are certain it was NOT because he worked on nuclear weapon development. Additionally, regardless of any other fact the death of an Iranian was and is a good thing... because Iran is our enemy... Do I have your position reasonably stated?

Taking this logic to its conclusion means there is not such thing as civilians, as everyone is working for the enemy of someone.

Someone actively developing a nuclear weapon for a deranged regime isn't a "civilian".

No, you misunderstand.

Some here are saying that it is unacceptable that a scientist was targeted.
That is irrelevant.
Anyone assisting Iran in developing a nuclear weapon is fair game.

The Iranian government is run by mad men. Elect adults to run your country and you will be treated like adults on the world stage. Until then America and the rest of the west will have to continue to put you in your place until you go up.

True, but who knows what's really going on? Doesn't mean I can't wait for Santorum to die so I can feel the elation he gets from the death foreign scientists right?

He would be genuinely confused, as he is on God's side of course. Or rather, God is on his side.

That was Bin Laden's point I believe, that attacking US civilians is fair game since it is our tax dollars that pay for our military and government.

Personally, I think we will go mad trying to point out all these equivalencies or who is a terrorist or not. There is no single set of rules that the leaders of various countries play by.
