Santorum Breaks Ties With Law Center
Sen. Rick Santorum on Thursday withdrew his affiliation from the Christian-rights law center that defended a school district's policy mandating the teaching of "intelligent design."
Santorum, the Senate's No. 3 Republican who is facing a tough re-election challenge next year, earlier praised the Dover Area School District for "attempting to teach the controversy of evolution."
But the day after a federal judge ruled the district's policy on intelligent design unconstitutional, Santorum told The Philadelphia Inquirer he was troubled by testimony indicating religion motivated some board members to adopt the policy.

It reminds me of the guy in the movie Casablanca that is "Shocked, shocked" when informed gambling is happening at his club.
Is Rick Santorum so stupid or naive that he expects us to believe he believed religion had nothing to do with the school board enacting Intelligent Design?
 
Santorum said in a 2002 Washington Times op-ed article that intelligent design "is a legitimate scientific theory that should be taught in science classes."

What an about face. I guess elections are around the corner and he realizes that is trailing Casey in the polls and he can't rely on the Christian far right to carry him through the next election.

I sincerely hope he loses.

Ahahahahaha! You guys are crazy, literal, and downright funny to listen to. There's a difference between wanting to kill gays and wanting to stop glamourizing and hearing about gays and gay rights (especially when the law is the same for both straights and gays just like the laws are the same for men and women) and there's a difference between wanting women to stay at home and get beaten and to stop hearing about facist women's rights movements. These things are jamming wedges between people and dividing america into more groups. I hate it so much, but we keep going in that direction so I'm not going to be Mr. Nice Guy anymore!

Sen. Santorum is a member of the elitist group of conservatives that think they are above the soiled masses. He and his ilk like to portray themselves as pure of mind and spirit, and their followers like to think they are morally superior also.

Politics is a dirty business, and there are back room deals, broken promises and backstabbing done on all sides. I would like to think there are a few statesmen around, but I am always wary of their deceptive tactics.

It was the French Police Captain, played by Claude Rains, who said the line just before closing the club and just before a dealer walked up to him and handed him his winnings.

But other than that you are correct in your analysis that Sen. Santorium is a hypocrite.
