I thought it was sort of funny....while in the course of one of the most blatantly homophobic public acts in recent memory the man was dressed like one of the most recognizable openly homosexual characters of the last decade....I mean I don't really frequent the P&N forums much so if I just fell for a trolling well...yeah...

I'm actually really confused by all the furor around this video. I'm 100% for gay rights, but this video doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as everyone in this thread made it out to be. I was actually kind of disappointed when I watched it as I was expecting a comedic gold mine!

I guess you could take what appears to be his dislike for the repeal of Don't Ask - Don't Tell as homophobic, but I'm not sure if I see it that way. It seems the only stupid remark in the entire video is how he made a segue from the repeal of Don't Ask - Don't Tell and not allowing children to pray during school to being a "war against religion."

Although, amusingly enough... the high school that I went to had regular prayer meets one day a week. However, I believe the restrictions on these were the exact same as any other extracurricular activity as they had to occur before or after school hours (I believe the prayer meets were at 7:30AM).

To the best of my knowledge, Don't Ask - Don't Tell doesn't say that homosexuals cannot serve in the military, but that they can't serve openly in the military.

I took his commercial to mean this: "Hey... they're opening new avenues for homosexuals, but restricting us religious people! That's not fair!"

That jacket is associated with gay. Even more so now (and ever) that Rick is causing such a huge stink.

He could have just left it as "Obama's war on religion" and that's it. But, he had to pick at a pretty couragious act of serving in the military and how one chooses to represent themselves - which in case most of you have missed it; honestly. Representing themselves honestly. No lies. No cover ups.

Proudly standing up and saying; "I will die for my country". Yet, we as a people have a problem with that very brave person stating he/she is gay?

Now, should there be shame when someone state's Merry Christmas? Yes - if you direct it to someone who is Jewish or not even a Christian. THAT is what shitheads and xenophobic trash views as a "war" on Christianity. When people consciously say Happy Holidays,... because the reality is, not everyone is Christian!

I don't remember ANYONE getting punched in the face or placed in prison for wishing someone a Merry Christmas. You do look pretty fucking stupid and arrogant if you insist on using Merry Christmas towards non-Christians. And, local governments will do their best to accomodate and acknowledge all religions and their respective celebrations.

Just because Christianity isn't the ONLY one accomodated and acknowledged for doesn't mean it's a fucking war on Christianity.
