I love how it's Obama's CIA when slathering out blame. It's not like he's staged some big shakeup like the time Cheney tried to leash 'em to a chair outside the oval office.

It's apparently very difficult for western intelligence agencies to create humint resources in the region, even for our regional friends, for that matter. You'd think that maybe the Turks, Israelis or Jordanians might have figured it out before we did, huh?

Please. The CIA operates in a semi-autonomous fashion reporting to the executive and has since its inception. Very little managerial control is exercised by either party, other than when the Bushistas tried to politicize it. It wouldn't have mattered who was in the Oval Office so long as they were just letting the CIA do their job. I doubt that Obama has interfered with that process much if at all.

As we've seen, it's very difficult to get much humint for a lot of reasons, which is the only kind really useful when dealing with deliberately & necessarily low tech adversaries like ISIS, the Taliban or even Al Qaeda. All the electronic intelligence in the world won't tell you much if they're not using electronic communications or if you lack the language experts to use it.

Oh, and I thank you for earlier offering up some insight as to how ISIS could be at least partially self supporting. Much obliged.

Oh I don't know... maybe appointing someone competent to run the CIA. Stop supplying Syrian rebels with weapons... the same rebels that, once there is a strategy, may be on the receiving end of some 2,000 lb bombs. Maybe obama should watch more evening news broadcasts since that is where he seems to find out about what is going on in the world.

Your original post should have simply said, I don't know what should be done but I know that Obama did it wrong.

i just don't see it happening now. though with how "easy" it is to get across the southern boarder i can see them using it.

Unless we do something about the boarders (and nothing will be done) eventually i do think some terrorist organization is going to do it.

but to be honest i have many more things to worry about.

The southern US border is open enough where it could occur but until there is proof it is occurring I have far more other important things to worry about.

Just had to correct this, there is no "a" in border in this context. "Boarder" is defined as "a person, especially a lodger, who is supplied with regular meals."
