Rick Perry attempts to physically intimidate Ron Paul

Looks like Perry is having a meltdown. What a lunatic. Nice frontrunner the GOP has put forth.

During the Sept. 7 Republican debate, Ron Paul clashed with fellow Texan Rick Perry once again.

This time, things got physical.

During a commercial break, Perry walked up to Paul's podium, physically grabbed Paul's wrist, and pointed at Paul's face with his other hand (photo below from Reuters).

Perry and Paul were placed next to each other at the center for the Republican debate.

Before the physical exchange, the war of words between Paul and Perry was perhaps even more heated.

When Paul was asked if he supports getting rid of the minimum wage, the doctor briefly answered the question (he supports getting rid of it) and then launched into an attack against Perry.

Rick Perry "criticized the Governor of Massachusetts [Mitt Romney] for RomneyCare, but he wrote a really fancy letter supporting HillaryCare," said Paul.

In response, Perry said he didn't know it was going to be "the monstrosity that was known as HillaryCare."

"Speaking of letters, I was more interested in the one you wrote to Ronald Reagan to say 'I'm going to quit the Party because of the things you believe in,'" Perry then said to Paul.

In response to that, Paul said he was one of the few Congressmen to support Reagan in 1976. However, in the 1980s, Reagan deviated from his ideals and spent too much money, said Paul.

Later in the debate, Paul was asked about a letter his campaign wrote that accused Perry of at least 5 sins against conservatism.

Paul zeroed in on the accusation that Perry tried to forcibly vaccinate 12-year-old girls against HPV by executive order.

Perry, in his defense, said there was an opt-out in the order.

Rick Santorum, former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania and also present at the debate, then countered that the order should be "opt-in" instead of "opt-out."

This guy is just a libturd in disguise, the sooner people figure that out, the sooner he will drop off the map. Only reason he is ahead right now in polls is because the Bachmann crowd abandoned her for the next sensation. Give it time.

What is a libturd? There are so many new and interesting insults these days I can't keep up. I would have thought the inclusion of "lib" meant liberal which is (incorrectly) used to label the left nowadays, but Perry is clearly a Republican.

Anyway, stay classy Perry.

ReTHUGlicanism at it's finest.

it has nothing to do with the party but how you control yourself.

these pictures are enough to sway some voters. not that i think Perry has much chance anyway.

i do give credit to Paul for how he reacted. Perry's action is not what i want in a president.

Clear as mud? Having an R after your name on TV doesn't make you a Republican (same as with the D). What you say doesn't make you a Republican. It's what you do, and in this case DID, that makes you a Republican. And sorry, you can't be a Gore supporter and all of sudden turn into a Republican. That's like saying I used to molest children, but I'm all better now so I can no longer be labeled a child molester(crude example and I'm not calling the left/liberals child molesters).

I'm confused by your "libturd" as well. Are you claiming Perry is a liberal? That's flat out bizarre. Or is "libturd" some variation of libertarian?

You are correct that in that the Palin to Bachmann crowd has moved on to Perry.

Perry is just a turd 🙂

I cant help but laugh when reading that article. It sounds like an exchange of 8th grade boys. The scene from Austin Powers where doctor evils kid talks about his day and Evil wants to hit the button to fry him comes to mind.

We'll defend Perry on his record. Oh, wait, that's quite a mired mess.

We'll defend Perry on his rhetoric. Oh, wait, that could all be lies.

We'll defend Perry on his... behavior...? Odd approach. Though it does speak to who the man is. Does he come across as a simple authoritarian, is this an example of that?

I do want to believe what the man says, but he makes that quite difficult. Past experience leads me to question if a man is really as conservative and freedom loving as they claim to be.

Is this an example of him being a small man? Small in character that is. I'm not even really sure what it would mean for his policy. Anyone here think they can decipher it for us?

Perry is an idiot. There's only a handful of Republicans worth listening to at the moment, but for some reason they're the ones the party doesn't want elected.

BTW How funny is it that people in America are all about the parties now. Sounds like we're turning into North Korea. oh lols @ people

lol, Perry is such a sanctimonious ass. Pretty much what I would expect from a 'christian dominion' politician.

Obviously he's worried about Paul.

I just love it when the GOP debates each other, so many moments of high drama and comedy.
And sadly, few nuggets of truth.

When Perry and Roney accused each of lying and distorting their records on jobs, that is a fact we can believe in.
