It sure seems you're the one complaining. You're not complaining about YOU though, you're complaining about THEM. In fact, that's really the basic premise of this thread, complaining about the rich.

You are also mistaken. I'm not wearing any soft shoe. I'm wearing hip waders to avoid all the whine from the sour grapers that constantly bitch by using statements like "They also have the best homes, health care, etc., etc., etc." as if everything in this world should be equal for all. 'Fooking Tiger Woods has a Lear Jet and I don't. WAAAAH!'

btw, who do you think creates jobs in this country? It sure isn't the middle class and poor. So I think I'll let my trickle down statement stand, because as much as certain people (like our resident socialists and communist wannabees) love to claim it's not true, anyone with a modicum of sense knows they are fos. Let the rich pull up stakes and leave the US with their money and assets. You, me, and the rest of this country would be fucked.

Last but not least, your red herring of an argument of money not defining what's good doesn't even belong here. It's nothing that I implied nor have I seen anyone else in here imply such a thing. It does seem to expose the bitterness in your mind regarding the rich though.

Let the rich pull up stakes and leave the US? Please put down the pipe, you obviously can't handle your pot.

Your the one with the red herring argument with your empty threats.

Indeed, and after a few years they would need 20% to provide us with jobs. The only thing cutting taxes on the rich guarantees is that the rich will get richer.

The question I have is, how do we get more citizens to understand what you do?

TLC spouts nonsense, with his public-hating rhetoric about how only the rich are deserving of any credit for the wealth of the nation, as if the public aren't the ones doing the work.

They all have a role to pay, and the rich are not getting the short end of the stick.

His pathetic logic is basically, the rich are doing well at stacking the deck in the favor, which just proves how deserving they are of the riches.

He's the same type who would say that slaves belong slaves because the fact that they're slaves proves they aren't deserving of anything better.

He'd deny that of course because he doesn't get that he's doing the same thing with workers, ascribing that they don't deserve any more because they don't get more. It's sick.

You wouldn't know a red herring if a fishmonger smacked you in the face with one.

It was a hypothetical situation to demonstrate that your irrational hatred of the rich does not translate into logical thinking concerning the imposition of taxes. Nor is it a red herring because the subject of this thread just happes to be the rich and taxes, in case you forgot.

Maybe you two should go to a country where there are no rich people and get a job where you and all of your fellow comrades could live in the bliss of equality together?

If you do, please take Craig234 with you too.

They prospered before they got the tax cuts under Bush, they'll prosper when their rates go back to the pre Bush era.

Wow. Considering that most women can wipe the floor with you, you should not set yourself up so badly.

so far, nothing but idiot banter

And again I ask why just this top 1% why not focus on all the other rich that also use the tax system to their advantage and find loopholes to avoid paying thier fair share.

you have not answered that question yet.

Who says he *only* wants to address the top 1% - but that's a good place to concentrate the fix. They drive the policies, they've beefittted from the changes since Reagan.

As of 1998 - the latest year I had handy, and before their share went far higher fro the Buish policies - the top 1% of Americans owned 38% of the wealth in the nation.
1, wealth is not static, let go of the silly liberal propaganda that being rich somehow hurts someone. it doesnt. And 2. being rich is not a crime.
I think that's closer to half now. That's the place to fix things, not by nickle and dimiing the consumers whose spending keeps the eocnomy growing, while the wealthy accumulate.
You realize every time you raise taxes on the rich, it actually makes them richer? why do you guys keep ignoring the fact that socialism, despite is lofty goals, really is set up to keep power in the hands of a few.
If you want a third world nation where a sliver of the nation owns most of the wealth and there is widespread poverty, we disagree on what's good for the nation.
WEALTH IS NOT STATIC, beat this simple fact into your tiny little head and start your simpleton thought process over again.
Spare me the fallacies about fair taxation on the wealthy shrinking the pie. If you are going to parrot that ignorant nonsense, save us all the trouble.
ANother awesome fuckin analysis.
if what you say is true and the tax code has been written in their favor then this top 1% wields and amazing amount of power.....do you honestly think it will ever happen?

Democracy means it can, once in a while, happen, as it did with Teddy Roosevelt, With FDR, with JFK. It depends whether people believe Jhhnn or believe you.
this is the real gem here. You think FDR was a hero? shit man he killed more americans with is his gestapo like attempts to "fix" the great depression than 10 hurricane katrinas. Democracy? lol please he had his agents destroying live stock while people starved, and then arrested any reporter that tried to report it. Go read your history.
Or do you do you think it more reasonable to close the holes that allow a greater number of those that consistently make large amounts of money and use the system to their favor thereby avoiding taxes?

see, you can't have it both ways...either the damn thing needs fixed or it does not
and if it does then the entire process needs work...not just the portion that affects those at the very tip top.

False dilemma. What needs fixing most is simply the policy makers serving the publc instead of the few most wealthy.
false dilema? way to avoid the glaring mistake people like you keep making.

as I pointed out in an earlier post of mine, to which I invited you to respond to, but you didnt, Is that a lot of the very holes you complain about that get these rich people tax breaks are the very programs set up by idealists like yourself. Do you get it? Who do you think takes advantage of these "incentive" programs?

The real socialists actually understand the system. Marx himself admitted the best thing for any economy is the concentration of capital. Having it spread around evenly is pretty stagnant. You either have the govt control it all (the non free kinda way) or you have the people control it (the free society kinda way)

You may hate rich people, but you also want jobs. Guess what, you need rich people to get jobs. The only alternative is to turn it all over to the govt (which at least an honest socialist can admit)

Perhaps you could do your part and send an extra 10% of your salary to the feds? I'm sure you did fine when you were making 10% less than you are now, so it won't really hurt if you do it right? Come on, be an example to all of us.

When this country goes down the tube because of ignorant morons, people will leave just as they are now leaving California, just as they are now leaving eastern European.

Smart Americans will leave if the opportunities no longer exist here. Heck, even in good times, smart Americans have worked aboard in order to obtain better opportunities. With the attitude of "love it leave it"... don't be surprise when people do. The US has begun to show some cracks and needs some fixing. Some illegals have already returned to their own countries...

We need to work together. STFU is not a answer.. If you still think it is, then like the last man still in California (if California continues on its destructive path), please turn off the light when you ultimate leave because there's not going to be a lot of people left. At least not the people who are looking for opportunities.

I'm simply telling you that if you want your Proletarian Paradise, go look elsewhere for it. You won't find it in this country and many like it that way.

That is a sound plan. Tell your most producing and intelligent people to leave your country.
It is like Spata's culling the herd technique for the intelligent.

Of course you know what Sparta's birthing process did to their empire right?

Hey, they're the ones threatening to leave. I say if they think they can get a better deal someplace then go for it.

It's a free country, and I encourage any dickwad that wants to leave to do so at their earliest opportunity. There are people lined up and waiting to take their places.

The rich benefit the most from our society. Expecting therm to give back the most is not unreasonable, but expecting people who work full time to more taxes so the rich can have more money to provide low paying jobs is.

The rich benefit the most from our society. Expecting therm to give back the most is not unreasonable, but expecting people who work full time to more taxes so the rich can have more money to provide low paying jobs is.

Uh.... they already do "give back the most". And the subject isn't about working people paying more taxes - it's you whiners trying to make those evil "rich" people pay more for whatever reason you pulled out of the class warfare playbook.
