2. He is discounting the value of backwards compatibility. Older games are often pretty neat games to have, and trying to get an older DX game to work is a nightmare because MS is not maintaining backwards compatibility.

Ironically I developped a DirectX7 game in 2000 and it still works these days. It even runs at resolutions it wasn't designed for. So excuse me if I find this a strange statement? Any facts?

Drakhan and Omikron still run on my W7 PC. i think those were dx7.
