Rich or Famous?

hey,
today in my english class, my teacher asked us if we rather be RICH (you're unkown) or FAMOUS (you don't have much money) and gave us 10 minutes to write why you choose which one, what would you do, and why you think its better than the other choice.

I chose to be rich! I said that it's rather pointless to be famous with no cash on your hands to spend, IMO
2 out of 28 students chose to be famous. :Q

anyways, just wondering what would you want to be, and why you choose it?

the heck with fame thats crap. People will just harrass you anyways, or try to take you out.

I would choose fame because I don't care about money very much, and if I was famous I could use my fame to promote awareness for causes that I support.

the object is to get extremely rich WITHOUT getting famous. Then you can have your cake and eat it too.

I prefer to be an unknown person with wealth than a famous person that don't have time to be them self. Running/hiding from the nosey press is not what I call a rich life.

Depends... personally, i want to leave this life knowing i've made a mark in it... a best selling book, some research that revolutionizes something, or perform some deed that helped others. But if you're talking about fame like Howard Stern's Stuttering John... who is well known, but is poor as dirt, i would definitely rather choose being RICH.

I can leave a mark in life by donating to my college, o wait, they have enough money already But seriously, I want a building one day to be in my name

rich, i don't think i'd want to be famous. i'd move to some remote place with all my friends + a few hotties and spend the rest of my days in paradise.

Famous involves people taking your picutre whenever you leave the house. You are then forced to wear a baseball cap and sunglasses and pretend like you are just a rich nobody driving a Jag. Uh, i'll take the nobody with money, and drive with just the sunglasses...
