rice cooker repalcement parts??

Hrmm... anyone know of a place that sells the inner pan/bowl of a rice cooker (Tiger JNP-1000 to be exact)? I found one place.. and they want $43 plus shipping... ugh.. I wouldnt' think it was that expensive 🙁

Anyone?

I don't feel it's worth replacing the inner bowl. It's like almost 3/4 the cost of the rice cooker. Just buy a new rice cooker.

Funny thing is my mom would rather have a new bowl for hers then a whole new cooker. At any rate, if you have a high-end pot it isn't all that expensive.

Rice cookers cost what? $20?

Go buy a new one. Or cook it on the stove like I do...it isn't difficult.

that's the one from Walmart. Most asian spent around $100-200 for the rice cooker

Q: Where can I order replacement parts for my Zojirushi/Sunpentown/Tiger rice cooker?

A: Replacement parts can be ordered from our Customer Service Dept., by calling 800-288-0640, M-F, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. PST.

what happened to the bowl? do you cook rice that often you are wearing it out??

Over time (usually over 5 years from my experience) the inner bowl begins to burn the rice as it is cooking. So it will begin to get crusty and stick to the bowl. So you need to scrape away at the burnt rice and damage the bowl even more. Also the rice begins to taste funny after a few years. So instead of spending $60-70 for the replaced inner bowl, I usually spend $100 for a new cooker. As for those $20-30 rice cookers, they don't hold up to every day use. So I feel they are a waste of money.

WTF is the difference between a $20 rice cooker and a $200 rice cooker? Do they both cook your rice in the same amount of time? How hard is it, dump in water and rice. Does the $200 rice cooker give you a happy ending when the rice is done or what?

when rice is part of EVERY meal, it matters on how its cooked

nice fluffy rice beats the piss outta clumpy or soggy rice

I am disappointed in you, a ninja like youself should know the diff between a $20 and a $200 rice cooker.
how about this:

WTF is the difference between a $30k car and a 10k car? Do they both get you from point A to point B in the same amount of time? How hard is it, dump in gas and drive. Does the $30k car give you a happy ending when the drive is done or what?

Hell yeah. Difference between hard dry rice compared to nice fluffy moist rice. And as I mentioned, the more expensive ones handle the everyday use for several years unlike the cheap ones.

LOL

I'm a member of the mighty pink race too, but don't be trashing good rice cookers around me😉

I've had a nice Panasonic for years now & love it, wish it'd wear out so I could upgrade to a smaller capacity Zojirushi.

BTW here's a starter rice cooker just for you The Ninja
