I never once heard anyone say anything at all about cd prices
I'm only 19, but man, you live under a rock. File sharing didn't create the issue, just made a tangible scapegoat.
I like having the CD, for several reasons, but don't just up and buy it unless it's in the clearance rack (which several have been). Amazing how I'll spend $9 a CD w/o much worry, but not $16, huh?
I like the liner notes
I like making good rips, which most people on Kazaa don't know about.
I have an MP3 CD player...the last 3 CDs I made have a total of 8 seongs between them that I haven't paid for. Poor guys...400+ hours and maybe 25 minutes of it illegally.
Personally I very rarely buy cd's, there is too much crap out there, and I can't justify spending $15 for a few songs, I just listen to the radio or something
Radio?! Evil. Compression *hiss* crossfading ew background noise no!
1) FM Radio is bad.
2) FM Radio never has good playlists. Period. Brain Salad Surgery is a great example of how much is missed out by hardly anyone (even me until a couple months ago) knows a song, and hears only one small part of even great albums.
Note that what is below is off the top of my head.
a) Deep Purple? Smoke on the Water, Hush, and Woman From Tokyo.
No Hey Joe, no Lazy, no Space Truckin' (not counting any studio stuff), Strange Kind of Woman, The Mule, Child in Time, etc.
b) Queensryche? Jet City Woman and Silent Lucidity. Maybe Another Rainy Night.
No... Damaged, Out of Mind, Bridge, Promised Land, Disconnected, One More Time, Someone Else?, The Thin Line, I Dream in Infrared, Empire, Della Brown, Anybody Listenning...nada.
c) EL&P...only Karn Evil 9 1st Impression (part 2).
No Karn Evil 9 1st Impression (part 1), Karn Evil 9 2nd Impression, Benny the Bouncer, Black Moon, From the Beginning, A Time and Place, Tarkus, etc.
d) Dio? Rainbow in the Dark, occasionally Holy Diver.
No Last in Line, Lock up the Wolves, Sacred Heart, Strange Highways, etc.
e) Lynyrd Skynyrd...OK, they play a lot here
🙂, but missing good stuff like Swamp Music and Four Walls of Raiford
f) Moody Blues? Nights in White Satin
w/o going past that album, we've got The Day Begins, Dawn is a Feeling, Another Morning, Peak Hour, Tuesday Afternoon and Twilight Time.
g) Nazareth? Hair of the Dog.
Come on, we all know Please Don't Judas Me beats it into the ground.
h) Ozzy...plenty played, but more not.
No Thunder Underground, Tomorrow, Back on Earth, Mr. Crowley, Diary of a Madman, Mr. Tinkertrain,, etc.
I'll now end my rant on how I loathe radio stations before it gets too long.
