done about what? "congress, we need to stop music piracy, because too many people are hacking our website... and... well... i'm sure that if they didn't have any music to listen to... they would be able to hack...."

they attempt to legalize corporate vigilantiasm, want to make examples out of random "high use" individuals (unprotected/naive users is a better term), think they can flood the net enough to corrupt mp3 distribution, try to blackmail ISP's, and want america to believe they are the good guys trying to protect....the poor underprivledged mainstream musicians who get 5-10% of album sales when in reality their motivation comes from media giants intent on maintaining profitshare.

They want to have the authority to DoS users, businesses, ISPs, neighborhoods, dorms, etc...but if they continue to pursue such methods, they will quickly learn first hand they don't know a thing about DoS.

Nice. A good subtle hack. Not one of those lame "0wn3d by <insert group name here>. we are l33t"

I agree- these are the kinds of hacks I like. Especially against stupid organizations like the RIAA. I want to see someone hack PETA next. :D

I vote for the MPAA next... hehe, serves the bastards right. I wouldn't mind someone hacking actually recording studio websites either.

Two wrongs don't make a right plain and simple. Vote with your wallet. Besides, pop music is horrible! :p

It will come down to who can afford the most bulldog law firm. The end user will end up with the short end of the stick. In the end computers just aren't going to be enjoyable to use. It's not a matter of if it's a matter of when.

Cheers!

Very well-said. I was going to say something quite similar. :)

Oh, last night, I did actually buy a CD...one I've wanted for a long time. The Rolling Stones "Some Girls." Then I made two copies of it. One for my truck and one for a buddy. :p

I'm really suprised this happened :D There web page is still down atm. I bet this article on cnn made them want to hack there site.

All this happening when the federal government is now calling hacking "terrorism ", a crime that would put you in the big house with murders and such.

Let's just hope the upcoming sept. 11 will be a quiet quiet day :)

Yeah. "Congress, please look, now they are hacking us! We must ask that you quickly pass our law so that we can legally hack them back! That will teach them to share their music!"

yeah, falling record sales have nothing to do with the faltering economy or the fact that limp bizkit, briteny spears, and nsync's appeal has worn off.
