I will when I can do what i want with the tracks purchased. No crippled DRM laden CD and digital downloads. And the price needs to come down on digital downloads. After all, Im not getting a physical cd, case, booklet, artwork, liner notes, lyrics and they arent paying for shipping and store shelf space

Many people are wary of putting CDs in their computer, and they should be. And full price for lossily encoded music is a bad deal.

WTF?

I put every cd I buy into my computer

1. Buy CD
2. Burn 2 copies
3. Import into iTunes or convert to mp3
4. Store CD in case shit happens to my copies

You probably have a clue about computers and have autorun turned off. Most people don't, and autoinstalling DRM software is out there; Sony (who else but the world's most vile corporation?) did it a few years back.

what the hell?

Sony rootkit fiasco, I imagine.

True, but that hasn't stopped me from ripping every CD I've ever bought to MP3. I'm just never the first in line for a music CD, and by the time I actually purchase it, any DRM is widespread knowledge. Typically, I get my music from Amazon MP3 these days though.

but wait guys, you're forgetting about Micro-SD music!!!!!1 That was the problem all along!! People just want their music on a piece of plastic smaller than a penny!!

It couldn't be that you:
-charged too much for a crappy product
-took too long to come out with digital media
-locked down the digital media to the point that its nearly unusable
-focused more on teeny-boppers with 1 hit song than getting quality music.

I returned an import CD I bought from Germany because it turns out Sony still has that crap on a lot of their CDs released in other countries. The album finally got a release here in the U.S. though, with no DRM either.

I wish artists would take the time to put something worth buying together and make me want to buy it.. When 90% of the songs on 90% of albums put out are trash why should we be forced to pay for it?

At least iTunes has the alternative to buy single songs.... be nice if they were in a format that you could use for whatever listening purposes you wanted without having to find conversion programs / pay for conversion programs.

You're not forced to pay for it. You only need to pay if you want to own it.

Yeah, and I wish people would stop speeding*. But the punishment for speeding shouldn't be death. The penalty for this crap is outrageous. $222,000 for 24 songs? Are you shitty me?

*I love speeding. :)
