RG6 vs. RG6 Quad ...

I'm redoing some of the coax terminations in my house using compression fittings but have found that some coax I'm using is RG6 quad shield and other stuff is regular RG6. Does anybody know if the compression fittings for one type will work with the other type of cable as well? (I want to buy a container of fittings but would like to avoid buying two as they aren't cheap!)

I find this ironic considering your user name.

the quad connectors have more space between the inner and outer shells to allow for the shielding. I have forced a regular RG6 connector on quad, once. It was a real PITA.

They can work, but it is not optimal. The size of the cables, and amount of shielding are different.

I am currently wiring my entire house with all the cable, phone, video and network wiring.
It is expensive for all those damn connectors, but wth. I ran Cat6 for network, RG6Quad for TV/Cable, Cat5E for all the security/video and Phone.

I accidentally tried to use a regular RG6 connector on a Quad Shield, and was one tight sucker.
