RFID camera trunk!

alfa147x

Lifer
I am looking to build a camera trunk for my camera equipment. I have not really planned out he inside but for the door I REALLY want to mess with RFID!
So I found this Link, Video Link, and RFID PDF Manual

Now I would like to hook a simple string from a motor to this latch and have it open.
Anyone have any ideas as to how I should go about doing this?

Thanks for any tips / suggestions,
Alfa147x

Also is this the wrong section?

Most new cars have RFID ignition - no key. The fob is a small RF transmitter - just has to be present in the car , step on the brake and press the starter button. The car starts perfectly. It takes very little time to get used to it.

Could you extrapolate automobile keyless ignition to your camera box?

As for the right forum - lawyers could make good arguments for one of several forums. My choice would be the one with "Gadgets". But, this is as good as any and worth a bump. 🙂

Also, consider a fingerprint electronic. http://www.google.com/search?source...rlz=1T4GGLG_enUS316US316&q=Electric+door+lock

Thanks for the ideas!

My idea was to some how take that $20 ebay item + window motor and a sliding lock bam!

But the problem is:
  1. don't want to spend so much when a pad lock will work (if not better)
  2. it needs a battery 🙁

So this project might have just gone out the window 🙁 :\ 🙁
