I've been thinking, my Klipsch iFi doesn't charge my iPod Touch 2G because Apple has completely removed Firewire (12v) charging. Naturally, Klipsch did not build this into the design.
For $30, Scosche makes an adapter for charging, as well as a dock adapter that does the same, depending on the desired application. I wonder, though, if it would be difficult to rewire my existing dock internally so that it will charge? If a simple adapter can do it, why can't I, right?
Example: http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-...f=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Has anyone done this, or can anyone offer advice? I am guessing I have 12V coming in to the old Firewire charging pin that I can use for a source.
I was planning to buy the charging adapter and basically taking whatever circuitry it has and moving it into the dock, since I wouldn't know how to design it myself. However, I thought I might ask here in the event that one of you has already done this.
Any advice? If this isn't HT, please delete/move appropriately.
