When it originally came out, I was a teenager and so thought it was a bit corny and felt for the kid. Now giving it another spin with kids, it actually stresses me out. Anyone else experience the same?

YMMV, my kids don't have interest in idiotic holiday movies.Idiotic holiday movies like that are another in the long list of reasons to not have kids.
Pretty much all of the holiday movies I loved as a kid I still love as an adult.
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
Home Alone 1
Home Alone 2
Those are really the only movies I watched as a kid. My wife and I watch them every holiday season and also watch Elf and 4 Christmases. I was never a big fan of Christmas Story, just bored me. I may grab Jingle All The Way as I do remember enjoying that too.
Just ordered Jingle All The Way on amazon for like $7.
I always thought the movie was dumb. I'm not likely to think better of it decades later.
For reasons I cannot comprehend, the back part of my brain wants one of those, for absolutely no good reason.Kickstarter Bringing Back Jingle All The Way's Turbo Man Craze:

merry christmas, you filthy animal
Part 2 was A LOT worse as far as the damage done to them. Watched that last night (also watch that movie annually) and damn, those dudes take some beatings and electrocution. The science of Home Alone:
