Ok, so I had to reset my password since I forgot it. Only to realize that it goes to a now dead and inactive e-mail account (akhasan@zoomnet.net). I did end up finding a text file on a backup harddrive with "non-critical" passwords; one of them is Anandtech forums and it turns out to be somewhat critical.
Of course, the only problem is that the password has already been reset. At this point, all I have to prove my identity is the old password and my name. The e-mail address this account is tied to can be checked against the University of Michigan student/faculty database (just head to umich.edu and choose to search the database) and its the same as the old account; the name is fairly unique. I would certainly appreciate any help. It's just that weird hardware problems seem to be Anandtecher's specialty, and I happen to have one -- posted elsewhere.
