Revival of an extinct species is now a reality!

Reviving an extinct species! Finally some news that doesn't point to the complete at utter destruction of Earth as we know it.

Uh... yeah. I can't wait for the day the 9' tall saber toothed proto-mammals get loose and decide we taste real swell.

I remember hearing about this a few years ago... The outlook didn't seem as good then as it does now... It's reassuring to see they are applying the technology in this manner... doubtless some zealous law-maker has will ban it for political mileage.

The cloning of animals that are extinct because of man is one thing but the cloning of animals that nature truly selected for extinction could be a bad idea.

We'll just have to see.

Don't forget to get in line early when they're handing out torches and pitch-forks

hehe why? if they were unfit b4, they probably are still unfit? yea yea i know thats not how it works. but i doubt a wolly mamoth would find much of a home in the current enviroment outside of a zoo.

nah... they specifically say viable DNA....

I seriously doubt it's possible to get enough genetic material from a mosquito in amber.... with or without frogs....

<---wife's a biologist so i know what I'm talking about.... 😉😛

hey man.. I'm sure that we can substitute frog DNA for the missing parts. 😛 😉

Who says you have to go back that far. There are some seriously nasty stuff that went extinct in the last 20,000 - 50,000 years.

<----- Read a book once.

golly, does this mean i'll finally get my own pet trilobyte. that's swell.

That would be pretty cool to have a fish tank full of trilobytes. Anyway, I think reviving a species that man pushed to extinction using cloning and advanced technology is a great idea. Reviving a woolly mamoth would be pretty cool too, to have in a zoo only of course. I wonder if mamoth is tasty?
