I got a good deal on a few of these boards, which I could use to build some lab computers, but cant find any reviews. Wanna become ejumicated before I buy, you know?😀 Thx

Just because you cant setup a pc properly It doesnt mean it's the worse board ever.

that is just a tad harsh, ive set up two of these and they have been VERY reliable from day one.
Cant be beat for the $ period.

Me and my brother has one of these. Been very stable and fast for both of us so far. No real complaints other than lack of tweak options. If there is, so what? At the price it's sold for, it's essentially a throw-away board anyways.

well here's my personal review of the K7S5A. As a user who has been using it for many months, not some hardware tech site that runs benchmarks on it for a couple hours.

It's a good, stable board overall. But there are a couple quirks. i had a cmos batterly low warning the first time i booted up but thats since gone away. The BIOS likes to reset itself spontaneously (hmmm maybe as a result of the cmos? never thought of that, maybe i'll try replacing the battery one day). One of the LED headers is laid out wrong. But those are my only gripes. Otherwise i's a fairly decent board. Not too user-freidnly but if they're gonna be lab boards you could use them to teach students how to fix all the things people consider wrong with the K7S5A 😛

edit:grammar

Built 7 workstations with this board over 2 months ago with no problems so far. Worst board ever I don't know about that. Sounds like a personal problem.

it's the best for my budget though........

Before you buy this mobo, be prepare to have some common problems,... it's very picky on the memory sticks and power supply, other than that ... this mobo ROCKS HARD!!!

Wow...read some reviews and looks like a solid buy. A Buddy of mine works for one of those mom and pop PC Repair joints, and they had 3 extra K7S5A boards they are offering to employees for $35 a pop! I just give my bud the money and they are all mine Muhahahahaha😀 Gotta go to Fryes and pick up some 1.3 Durons for em tomarrow🙂

ecs k7s5a is a good board.

it's very sensitive to psu's 3.3+5v wattage.
so make sure you have at least 180w on that.

and you should be able to sail smooth.

it's probably one of the best board for the money.

Going by reviews, especially this late, is really not smart. Reviews tell you features, performance, price, etc. But they don't tell you how many RMAs, or issues people have with it, this particular board has a huge number of problems, which you won't find in a review.
Want a cheap stable board? FIC, epox, DFI, gigabyte.... many people that buy ecs are sorry.

All work great as far as I can tell🙂 Got 2K Server loaded on all three without a hitch and suffered a short burn in with Sandra(4 hours)

K7S5A is definetly the best price/performance ratio board out there! Bought 3 of them... 2 for me and 1 for my sis... all 3 pcs overclocked. Duron 750 @ 1000, Duron 700 @ 933 and a Duron 850 @ 952... my sis has the duron 850 (112 fsb). For those who don't use the overclocker bios (hacker bios) use CHFSB w/boot disk. Works like a charm... both my pcs have been up for over 4 months... reboots for only driver updates and software installs. Oh and the radeon issue with the board is nonexistent... i have an aiw-radeon and a radeon 7500 on the boards... perfect... no radeon 8500 yet... may wait until the radeon 8500xt then upgrade to an xp 2000+ ... hehe 🙂
