1) I would get a cheaper 6600GT rather than the overpriced x800GT
2) I would use the saved money and buy better ram. CVS just sucks! For 20 dollars more, you can get 2-2-3-5 ram that can possible go to 2-2-2-5 with some more volts.

1) even if your ram "sucks" it only will hurt performance by 1 or 2 percent.

2) 6600gt all the way

3) the mobo comes with all the cables you need

4) make sure you get a venice core chip

for the a little more than the x800GT you can get the x800 vanilla or 6800nu for alittle bit more than the x800. they have more pipes than the x800gt so your better off with that.

Corsair VS isnt that bad its pretty good ram for the price IMO.

if your gonna oc, i would suggest get a venice 3000+ over the 3200+ and use that money towards a better vid card.

other than that looks good to me

aside from the video recommends...

yes, you'll get sata cables with the mobo.

you can get the 3200+ oem right now for ~ 140 from ewiz if you can wait a week for ground shipping. get a hsf and you're good to go.

looks good though.

and imo, i'd spend the extra 30 or so and get a 160gb hdd.

Nice system overall. Looks like you did your homework.

Only one big comment - change the VC. The x800gt is overpriced. Get the 6600GT, or if you want to pay a bit more, the X800XL.

Also, Depending on budget, you may want to consider the folllowing:
1) Get 2GB of RAM. While it wont affect performance much in most of todays games, games in the future will really benefit (as we can already see in "Battlefield 2").
2) Upgrade to a 120GB HDD. It's not much more expensive, but it is 50% bigger. (Also, if you get a HDD bigger than 137GB, you will only be able to access the first 137GB unless you are using winXP-SP1 or win2K-SP3).

Thanks all. Yeah, I'm getting a Venice core, and I might go down to a 3000+ to save money because I do plan to overclock (maybe not right away though). VC suggestions taken. I plan to add more RAM and HDD in the future. I'll probably stick with the corsiar RAM, but might consider something with lower timings.

How so? nf4 SATA is plug and play.

Sata is easier, cable managements best friends, and plug and play like Kensai said. How can you go wrong? Not hard to isntall at all.

if you get more ram, you will probably end up selling yours and getting a 2x1gb kit. the speed lowers when you use 4 sticks. so, it may be easier to just get the 2gb now. also, for the hd, it would be cheaper to buy a big hd now instead of getting a second one, unless you plan on setting up a raid array.
