2. BUDGET: N/A, I don't want to waste money on stuff I am not going to use but I am very flexible here
3. BUYING United States from Newegg
4. No brand preference, other than Nvidia due to CUDA in Adobe & Intel cause that's the way to go for now
5. I will be using my current 512gb SSD for the Mac (and the new 128gb for PC); plus 3x 2TB HDDs that I have, monitors, etc.
7. OC: Moderate OC to 4ghz
8. Resolution: 1920x1200 + 1680x1050 2nd monitor
9. Buying parts ASAP (tonight?)

--------

$130 Samsung 830 SSD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147163
(for the PC side of boot; just for OS, Adobe install, maybe one game. Rest on standard HDD)

$70 LG 14x Blu-Ray
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136250
(for burning Blu-Ray movies and delivering Blu-Ray content to clients)

$400 Gigabyte GTX670 OC
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125423
(thoughts on this one VS the eVGA reference or eVGA OC, or even the GTX 680?)

$190 GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128545
(gigabyte mobo works best with hackintosh. I need lots of SATA ports since I have 8 internal SATA devices already... might need to add a PCI-E sata expansion card later...). I want lots of USB 3 also

$250 32gb RAM (4x8gb) G,Skill
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231569
(I *need* 32gb of RAM for video/after effects. Not sure if this specific model is overkill though? I do like how it matches my mobo color scheme, but that's superficial 🙂)

$130 after Promo - Corsair HX750 Silver
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139010
(should I spring for the gold certified? Or 850w? I've been told 750w should be more than enough)

2x $170 3TB Seagate HDD:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148844
(not sure if I should go seagate or another manufacturer? I just want a couple of great 3TB HDDs)

I've pretty much decided on this over-priced $240 Lian Li case. I just don't like the other full tower cases I've seen (antecs, corsairs, or a few others). Lian Li is elegant, sexy looking (shallow but I do want the aesthetics), light, thoughftul, and I built a PC in one once for a friend and LOVED It):

I will be adding my current:
* 512gb SSD (hackintosh boot. The new 128gb will be PC boot).
* 3x 2TB HDDs

I actually have that Blu-ray burner, but I haven't tried burning any blu-rays on it yet. That said, if you're going to be using it to burn BDs for clients, you might consider getting something a little more reputable. The LG is popular because it's cheap, but according to reviews on Newegg, it seems to be unreliable as far as creating coasters goes. You don't want that when it comes to professional work.

750w will be more than enough for that system. That's a great PSU. Everything else looks good as well. You won't need a GTX 680 for 1920x1200, and that's coming from someone who has one. The GTX 670 is a solid choice.

I'd get XFX 750W PSU $100 ($75 AR).

That memory is overpriced. Get two of these Corsair 2x8GB kits for total $220.

Why not partition your 512GB SSD and dual-boot from there? Do you need that much space on the mac side?

What CPU are you getting? i7-3770K? What sort of cooling are you considering?

That's overpriced 🙂awe🙂. I'd say Fractal Design Define XL is better feature-wise for almost half the cost. You'll be running many HDD's, the XL can quiet them down well with vibration absorbing rubber pads and noise blocking panels. Lian Li is a lot ligher but to me that weight reduction would be worth like $10.

I would partition the 512gb, but I've read that's dangerous and complicated when running a Hackintosh. If it was a legit boot camp setup, it'd work, but unfortunately for this the extra $130 will save me a ton of headache.

oops! Yes I forgot, I am getting the i7 3770k. Minor detail 😉

It seems to me that with the money saved on case, PSU and memory you could bump the PC-side SSD up to 256GB. I know personally it would annoy me to have one game loading from the SSD and rest from a standard HDD.

(Obviously if you play a lot of games you won't be able to have them all on a 256GB drive, but you could at least fit the ones you play most, or the ones that need to hit the drive the hardest.)

Ah, didn't know that about Hackintoshes. I figured it'd work like linux+windows dual boot.

I agree with lehtv that you can (and should) save money on PSU, memory, and case.

The big issue that I see is the GTX 670 though, namely it won't work in OS X yet. Getting one is fine as long as you are OK with using the HD4000 only within OS X or waiting a while before installing OS X. If you need to get OS X up and running with a proper GPU immediately, you should stick with a GTX 580.
