Like Ive been saying, if this was released instead of MW2, there would be no PC hate on CoD. This is what MW2 should have been.

So does this have/offer Dedicated servers for PC unlike MW2?

yes...

with all the threads about the game here and other sites, plus all the hate for MW2 not having it and people wanting to know if this one has it, you'd think this wouldn't be something you need to ask specifically....

Does MP character movement seem sluggish to you? It feels like my character is moving in molasses (not the stutter issue) but everyone else seems to be flying around. not as fluid/fast as MW2 it seems, unless I'm experiencing some other issue.

I didn't play MW2, but it feels ridiculously faster than MW1. My biggest gameplay beef with the game is that it doesn't seem to matter that much which gun you choose, spray and pray almost always seems like the best option. I think part of it is that hit detection doesn't quite seem up to snuff.

I think its the opposite. I end up spraying a lot with certain guns and I miss horrible with the recoil. If I just burst half the time I would have killed the person.

It depends. If you play a lot of hardcore, you certainly can run around every corner spraying and get a few kills. I always laugh when people say that hardcore makes the game harder, I find that it has the complete opposite effect.

What recoil? That's my point... the recoil is minimal and the hit registration is bad, therefore you are far better off just holding the trigger down until they're dead than bursting them, unless they're at very long range.

Did you play MW2? Recoil seems to have increased dramatically in Black ops

I didn't play MW2, but...

The other thing I forgot to mention that I find fairly ridiculous is the way spawns work. It's good that there isn't a fixed spawn that can be exploited for camping, but in HQ, TDM, and CTF many of the spawns are overly advantageous to instantly overrun the people that just killed you, or put you much closer to the objectives that the other people that managed to stay alive, or just flat out put you too close to everyone else in general. It's really lame to spawn right into someone's crosshairs and equally lame to spawn right behind an enemy and lay them out.

that's a pretty bad review to be honest. I like that he talked about the pros but he didn't even touch on the cons at all. I'd like to hear more about the lag issues I keep hearing about.

it was like that in MW2 also. It does suck ass.

I have to agree with you there, seems like every single gun kills people in a few bullets max. Burst guns feel useless to me because going full auto on guys is so effective in this game. I've still been having a lot of fun with it so far though, knifing definitely seems a lot harder than it was in MW2.

I have noticed a LOT of hackers so far though, I've seen a lot of blatantly obvious aimbotters and it's annoying if you aren't in a server with a good admin.

Oh and the biggest CON so far in this game, if you're playing with friends it just randomly tosses you onto different teams. I mean come on is it really that hard to make it so you stay on your friends' team between rounds? Also I get stuttering but I feel like it's server related, I only get it in certain servers and in others the game runs perfectly smooth.

Burst guns are great for long-mid ranges. Close to mid range and you will likely be assed out against a fully auto. Getting a good feel for a weapon of your choosing takes time. You could likely find yourself being really good with any one weapon if you used it for its strength, and used it habitually.

Try this with good peeps youll get pwned.

only certain weapons have low recoil.
and spray and pray is still not the way to get kills even with those.
3-4 shot bursts with a red dot or reflex in the upper torso/head is dead every time.

Whats the deal with the lag on this game? Me and a couple people are wanting to buy it but are waiting to see if things get fixed.

Yup. Every time I play I am usually in the top 3. I keep an eye out on the other top people and who would kill me the most. Id say about 40% of the time they are extremely shady. When I have ghost and silencer, I dont see how you would go to an obscure place of the map preaiming at me through the wall. Or you can just watch at how quickly they switch targets. Aimbots switch immediately when the target dies. That means before the body even starts falling. Ive noticed a lot of people cycling through targets extremely fast.

They arent always the top people either. Some people with meh scores have shady killcams as well.

Talking from experience of years of competitive CS and and using hacks back in CS 1.5 days.

Although there are a lot of hackers, its nothing compared to MW2 where they felt invulnerable with the matchmaking system.

I still havent seen anybody I would consider a "guaranteed" hacker. Granted my friends all say I have a "shady" killcam quite frequently o_O

OT-ish, Is there a Steam group or anything for AT players? I'd love to play with some of you guys

Oh Ive seen plenty of guaranteed hackers. Spinning headshots and everything.

The theater option is nice. Tons of people post videos of hackers in their games. Although it does nothing, but you can see blatant ones.

I've seen this a lot too, but it's not full proof either. You got kids who play this game 6-8 hours a day and sleep with the game under their pillow enough to know when a target is coming, how the controls react, and knowing how the gun fires. I sometimes scare myself from how intutive I can get after playing a few hours straight with the same gun and on the same maps.

So many people assume you must be cheating when you're just playing the numbers. As you learn the maps, you learn where people are most likely to be when you go around a corner, so you aim at that spot. When there is someone there, it's an insta-kill. It looks "shady" only because your gun is trained on the most likely spot for someone to be.

:D

That might be me :\

Really, on most maps there are 3-4 spots where people ALWAYS like to camp. If i see a shot fired from there, I dont usually check the spot immediately, i'll go back in a minute once that person thinks he's safe. Believe it or not, there is a lot of strategy to the game

Well the hackers I've seen are quite obvious, they would lock onto you through walls, you would basically see their crosshairs snap onto you when you get within a certain range, even if you were coming around a corner or coming through a building. I played CS long enough to know an aimbot when I see one lol, but yeah there are a lot of false alarms too. It's not really bad enough to ruin the game for me, I'm still having fun with it.
