Reversing a PSU

I'm interested in getting a BFG LS-550 PSU to put in my Antec 150 case. The BFG has a bottom loaded fan. I'd like to cut a hole in the top/rear of the case and install the PSU upside down. This will bring in cool air and exhaust hot air outside the case. Noise is not a problem for me, I'd rather keep my components as cool as I can. What do you think?

Sure, should work fine. I have an Antec NSK3480 case that is designed to work that way with vents on top. I have also done just the opposite of what you are thinking - had four Antec 900 cases that I had to prep for Showdown LAN and I wanted the PSU to have the fan on the bottom, so I cut "D" shaped holes in the base of the 900.

you'll be hanging the board inside the psu upside down if i'm understanding right. you would have somewhat heavy components pulling on their solder joints.

though i doubt it would have an effect. just a thought.

just the opposite actually

He wants his fan pointing up. Which means the PCB in the PSU will be on the bottom.
