reverse logic switch?

hmm, i am doing a electronic project, and i need to implement a switch that is "on" when the button is pressed, and "off" when the button is not pressed. Is this called a reverse logic switch? i am not sure, and i can't seem to find it on digikey 🙁
 
Not sure of the circuit but here are to switch types.

(NO) Normally open no current flow until switch depressed.
(NC) Normally closed current flows until switch depressed.
both type are momentary

Both types can be found at rat shack

Spring loaded so when you release the button returns to its original postion (like the keys on your keyboard)
 
btw, i am looking at the specs for the switches, and under circuit, it saids either "SPST" and "DPDT". What does that mean?

YOu want SPST...normally open when not depressed


By the way it means single pole double throw
 
It's like a power rating. ie. watts

Just the volts*amps

eg, for this pushbutton, the contacts will be able to handle 40v at 10mA
or 0.4 volts at 1A. for a rating of 0.4VA
