Double post but it's worth it...

My car insurance went down for once! Last year it was $662, this year it's $659! Hot damn!

What is that? Some Tim Hortons/Canadian thing?

Yeah you can win prizes by rolling up the rim on your Timmy's cup. Always an exciting time of year! 😛

Another win for today, they are clearing off the snow on my street. First time this year. Going to gain about a lane worth of width!

There was an orange cone on a sinking sewer at the corner of my driveway that has been buried in snow for the past few months. I imagine the snowblower is going to pick that up... lol.

Other than protein powder for when I want to hit my macros for the day but I'm feeling lazy, I don't use any supplements, not even vitamins. Macros (i.e. eating according to your body's daily requirements for protein, carbs, and fat, which is found using a simple & free calculator) is a whole separate discussion we can have if you want to dive deeper into properly feeding your body, but I would say it's not essential for managing reactive hypoglycemia (but is very useful!).

Pretty much, aside from actively tracking your blood sugar (my reactive hypoglycemia is not diabetic-related), you just have to learn how to listen to your body, which takes time & experimentation. The goal is simple: feel good from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep. If you wake up feeling like crap, if you have dips during the day, if you wake up at night, then you need to adjust your diet in terms of what you eat, how often you eat, when you eat, and how much you eat.

Once you master all of that stuff, then you can pretty much cruise around the whole day feeling good. I felt so bad & so mediocre for so long that I didn't really know there was another way. You should absolutely wake up feeling great & then feel great all day long from sunup to sundown, and if that isn't the case, then it's time to make some adjustments!

For me, it's pretty simple - eat small meals every few hours. That's a big reason I got into food prep, just so that I could have things ready to go in order to stay feeling good all day long instead of having energy dips throughout the day & getting brain fog. Once you find out what works for you, the key is to simply setup a system that enables you to provide yourself with the food you need, when you need it, every day. Having a good system is essential to managing reactive hypo imo.

I get a lot of brain fog related to my carb intake as well.
I'm not sure if it's just hypoglycemia or it can be due to inflammation caused by certain carbs.
This lecture talks about how fructose is metabolized as a toxin by the liver and thus triggers inflammatory pathways.
Furthermore, I had a several months stretches where I had chronic hives. I went on an elimination diet and it went away when I cut out most carbs.
I noticed cutting out most carbs makes me feel much more clear headed as well.
Maybe eating small frequent meals would work well too!

The "Open in New tab" functionality finally works properly again for this site in mobile chrome! (before it would open the tab but load the new tab in front)

Lol they did end up picking up the cone, probably with the grader. It's all broken now, they put it back lmao. When the snow came I was going to just put it in my garage and put it back in spring but it was already stuck in the snow by the time I got to it so didn't bother.

Boss was checking out his rental upstairs to get some repairs done, and brought me most of a gallon of Husqvarna premix they left. I don't trust it enough to put in my Stihls, but I'll run it in my echo. Free fuel!

Got a text that my cell phone internet ran out of highspeed data, and would be throttled til Feb20. My hotspot speed is still fast though. That happened in December also, but not January. Not sure how that works, but I like it :^)

Forgot. I wanted to make a fire when I got home today, but forgot to grab a roll of blueprints from work to get it started. Newspaper isn't as plentiful as it used to be, and I've mostly purged my house of random scraps of paper. Looked in the garage, and found an old set of prints from ~15 years ago. That'll probably last the rest of the winter :^)

According to my fitbit, when I get pissed off and clean the aquariums, kitchen, bathroom, and living room, apparently that counts as two hours of "fat burn" and about 4000 steps.

Extra heartrate bonus spike because I overfilled my wastewater bucket and got aquarium filth on the carpet.

discovered my gaming computer is a lot more efficient than I originally thought.

Uses 135 watts when web browsing and 320 during 3DMark.
And thats including the 27 inch monitor and logitech Z5300's in 5.1 mode.

Decided to break down and buy Metro Exodus cause it looks so awesome I can't help it. However I did promise myself that I'll finish one of the million games I own but have hardly played (Ghost Recon Wildlands) before I actually play Exodus. Now I just gotta not watch any more gameplay videos of it and spoil more of the game, lol.

Going to see "They Shall Not Grow Old" tonight after work. My mom said it was playing at their local theater but I thought it had come out a couple months back and I must've missed it here, but sure enough I checked and it is playing in the theaters here (at least the one I go to). WOOT
