Boss just texted me that we aren't working tomorrow. Said he had office work, but he's lying. Work's been slow, and he's too much of a pussy to go out in the cold to do non essential work. That means I get the day to go collect firewood and work outside while it's nice. Score!

Nice, do you still get paid though? I would rather work than lose pay, if given the choice.
Nah, no pay. I guess free firewood is a kind of pay. The company's winding down, and the boss is getting old(so am I!), so we don't work as much; probably less than half time most of the time, but so far I have everything I need. I don't spend much money, and I make some doing treework.

My friend I do treework with is a plumber. He's seriously thinking about quitting plumbing and doing treework full time. I try to gently discourage him from doing that. Not only do you have a bunch more headaches running a full time business, having two occupations is better than one. When one gets slow, you can pickup the slack with the other. Keeps you diversified. When you do treework in the big leagues, you have a lot of iron that requires money, and it doesn't care what you're doing for jobs. It still needs to get paid. When your small, it doesn't matter. Biggest equipment we have is my little chipper, and it's paid for. If it isn't doing real work, I can still use it for stuff around the house.

After two failed delivery attempts from the big guys, we got a game fifteen bucks less than black friday bs. Curbside.

I’ve been playing around with applying decorrelation stretch software to pictographs on our land. It’s bringing out details on the images that are invisible to the eye. The ring of the wheel on the left side of the panel is barely visible in person and not enough to tell that it’s a wheel. The sun above the people is not visible at all in person. We’ve been trying to figure out the right side of the panel. We knew there is a figure there but no sense for its shape. Still don’t know what it is but we have more clues about its shape and size.

Was able to get both my flu and covid vaccines this morning at the local pharmacy. Took about 30 mins but worth the wait. Had to pick up my wife's rx and they just happened to get a new shipment of the covid vaccine so figured I'd knock them both out. A little late in the year for me. Typically get them around Oct. but just happened to have time this morning.

Transferred within my company to a new department and a new worksite. The new worksite is closer to home and the facility is way nicer. It was a good move, though I miss my old coworkers.

Bought some Starbucks French roast whole bean coffee a few months ago, and it's over roasted. Burnt as usual for their stuff. I found half a bag of Guatemalan whole bean coffee from aldi I forgot I had. It's got sour notes, and just doesn't taste great by itself. Putting ⅓ Guatemalan and ⅔ Starbucks in the mill makes an acceptable pot of coffee. Combined is better than either of them separate. I'll have Starbucks left over, but I'll be able to get rid of a chunk of coffee I don't much like without suffering.

Corporate pushed Windows updates last night. Copilot was installed, activated, and placed in startup. I immediately attempted to uninstall it and it worked, tis gone. Corporate usually locks down this type of stuff.

BTW, by default, Copilot has access to the microphone. "Would you like your security breach to startup with Windows?"
Since there's no privacy any more, I may as well start doing web cams.

I'm thinking about doing some Gumby porn.

Wife sent me to the store for Cream of Tartar so she can make snickerdoodles…which I despise. Of course, snickerdoodles are popular this time of year, so they were sold out of CoT…That meant I would have to drive 25 miles into Aberdeen to get it.
As I headed for the door, an elderly lady I had been chatting with while I perused the spice aisle came running up…”I found Cream of Tartar! It was in the wrong rack.” <phew!> I apparently got the last container of the stuff in the store.

I don't even have my phone connected to my car. Happily I only have Windows 11 for gaming, which I almost never do. Hopefully Linux gaming really takes off soon and I can completely move on.
