Revenge on Telemarketers!

Has anyone heard the recordings of this guy who somehow gets the home numbers of telemarketers, then calls them at like 3-4 AM at home and tries to sell them stuff? It's hilarious?I caught the tail end of a few of the guy's sound clips on a local radio show and I was laughing so hard I nearly had to pull my car over: "Hello Ms. So and So what would you say if I told you I can save you up to $13 a year in long distance charges?! I know it's a tad late and I rarely call past 2:30, but I knew you'd be interested! So if I could just get your mother's maiden name for billing verification we can get you all squared away..." etc etc. I was rolling...

Anyone know what the guy's name is?

Maybe it's local to me but I hope not. This stuff is golden. I'm in Portland, OR BTW.

That's just wrong.

It is. Most telemarketers hate their job. They have to do it though.

Sounds funny, but I'd rather listen to the aw-nold pranks on Gateway.

Yup, many (if not all) telemarketers are just trying to make a living. It's not like they actually believe that people LIKE being called at inopportune times.

sounds like a prickish thing to do. i'm going to guess that the telemarketers aren't calling HIM at 3AM.

Is he calling the people that make the phone calls or the peopel that own the company. If it is the owner, then I see no problems 🙂

I actually felt sorry for a telemarketer once. I was ATTEMPTING to get some cable internet and surprise, surprise, my ISP calls me (Well, their telemarketing agency did) and offers me the service for 50% off for 6 months. KA-CHING. So I go through the whole signup process, and then at the VERY end, right as she's making an install appointment, it flashes on her monitor that there's an outstanding bill at this address (That was installed by my half sister in her name by a cable guy who was tresspassing - without homeowner permission, which Comcast refuses to cooperate in sorting this issue out, but that's a seperate issue). Poor girl was CRYING when she had to break off the sale.

Issue was finally resolved last week when Comcast just removed this whole neighborhood from the service area after being contacted by the family lawyer. Dammit.

Well, that went kinda far off topic. Point is, telemarketers are people too. Some are truly evil people with no morals, most are just all-out failures in life trying to pay their own way instead of sucking up your tax money.

Sorry, but anyone who gets a job as a baby seal clubber or a telemarketer deserves to suffer for the evil they help to perpetuate.

Just as the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) requires that one disobey an illegal order, any person of good character should refuse an order to shill for a long distance phone plan during the dinner hour.
