As if the son of a bitch had not hurt enough people with his wrongs, now he hurts all gay people in order to get in good with the religious right by spreading the lie it gets 'cured'.

All he has to do is lie that he's no longer attracted to men and he gets points for furthering the right's lie - at the expense of all gay people who are trying to spread the truth.

There's nothing wrong with being gay. There's nothing wrong with being any particular race (especially since race is merely a social construct). There is nothing wrong with having a certain religion (this doesn't fit as well since religion can be a choice, whereas race and sexual orientation really aren't). People need to distance themselves from a desire to categorize people by meaningless designations that merely serve to divide us into different groups. We are all humans. Get used to it.

Thank God he is cured of teh gay. I heard 2007 was the year of teh gay... better keep your kids indoors and keep outside exposure to the minimum.

reminds me of an episode of malcom in the middle where his older brother convinces a hot southern chick that he is gay in order to try to get her to straighten him out. rather than the sex he was expecting, she takes him to a church where a bunch of men are praying out the gay :laugh:
 
He is a joy to laugh at, but I see my own need to deny my own insanity in that laughter. That sick Mfing piece of crap is a lot like me.
 
As a gay male, I cannot help but comment....

1. The bastard is disrespecting all gay people (along with others of any sexuality who have a rational thought process) by claiming to be "cured" for something that cannot and should not be "cured." Using the word "cured" is hateful in it's own right as there is an implication that something is wrong to begin with. If he is gay, then he is gay. HIS ACTIONS are what made him wrong...cheating on his wife and lying to everyone around him and pretending to be something that he was not.
2. There are fools and idiots aplenty that will believe Haggard's assertions--perhaps the most bothersome aspect of this!

I think you might be worrying too much about that. The kind of people who would believe Haggard's story are the kind of people who believed homosexuality could be "cured" already. Those of us straight folks who realize you didn't choose your sexuality any more than we chose ours aren't going to suddenly smack our heads and "realize" that homosexuality really is a disease that can be cured by properly concerned jackasses. The line was drawn on this already, and unfortunately we're not going to change the mind of the idiots with mere facts.
 
Counseling and 20 milligrams a day of of Homo-No-Mo.

According to Pfizer, this cures 68% of homosexuals with only nominal side effects.

Hooray! Now the retarded parishioners who were seen on the news crying for him have someone to guide them again! I remember watching some of the news clips about his admission with lots of people crying in the pews and (edit--my) father laughing his ass off at all of these pathetic mindless people.
 
This guy is a typical manipulator and BS artist who wants whatever he can get from others; in this case *money* and respectability. I call Bull sh!t.

Unfortunately, he represents Christianity and that's bad. Real Christians need to call out the gamers.

It hurts the effort to correct them, Rainsford. The idea is for them to get more accurate info, and a firsthand account like this reinforces the lie.

It should have read: 3 weeks of theraphy have cured his followers of worring that he is gay.

Doesn't matter that he is still gay, only that those that the collection plate goes by don't believe it.
 
I tend to think someone is gay if they choose to call themselves gay. Haggard is a homosexual, or possibly bisexual, but you can't really call him "Gay" as he completely rejects the gay identity.
