Are these any good for file archiving/backup or is there a better solution like blue ray burning or web storage?

I run the computers for my fathers' business and we have literally hundreds of gigabytes of stuff that needs to be backed up. Any help is appreciated.

REV is good but expensive. The REV has been developed primarily as an alternative to DAT tapes so security is the 1st priority here. It features software error correction and can be password protected. It also comes with backup-compression software that can effectively double its nominal capacity. It is faster and more flexible than DAT tapes but not as fast as an external HD.

I?m very happy with mine but as I?ve mentioned it is an expensive solution. I?ve been able to find only Iomega & TDK cartridges on the market so supplies may be a bit scarce too.

If you need a backup device that will offer DAT level security and at the same time will let you access your data like you have them stored on a HD, then this is the right solution for you. If you do not need the added security the REV provides then you should go for something else as the cost far exceeds the cost of external HDs.
