I've had my 7800GT for three weeks now. It's in mint condition. The box still has the UPC code and none of the accessories have been opened. The card is nice, but not great. I want something faster and was thinking about spending the extra $30 and getting the X1800XT OEM Sapphire. Will Newegg let me do this? Will there be a restocking fee?

Thanks!

i seriously doubt it... to them its used but you might be able to tell them you decided that it was a bad investment or something like that and get the other one :)

If your 7800GT was OEM, it probably said "30 day exchange for exact item only".

If it was retail, you can pay a 15% restocking fee and return it

What if I sent in the rebate? Do I still get the $270 - 15%? Or can I not return a product that's missing the UPC?

I doubt that you can.

Best Buy doesn't. Or else you could return it and reap the $$ of the refund. Maybe they'll let you return it minus the rebate. But I think it.

Is the performance improvment worth it? Just OC the 7800GT, sure it won't be as fast as a X1800, but it will be pretty dam close.

If you sent in the rebate your SOL.. nobody will take it back without the original UPC code on the box ... EVGA should still let you do the step-up thing though so I'd look into going that route instead.

yes, a x1800 xt outperforms a 7800 gtx by 10~30% with AA and AF resolution pumped up u can imagine how much it owns a 7800 gt

Well, that depends....if you are resolution limited, it isn't worth the extra $$$...MAYBE for HDR+AA, but there's only 1 game I own that I'd see any benefit from there, and that's Far Cry (and the number of game out there than can use HDR is limited...) not worth the extra money...instead I just OC'ed my 7800GT and did fine. If you aren't res limited (and I mean limited to 1280x1024 or lower) yeah, get it....but without the UPC you are SOL....head over to EBay or sell it in FS/FT here.
