I bought some shoes a week ago with a credit card. Now, I'm having second thoughts about the shoes, it was meant to be a gift for my friend, but they don't want it. The problem is that I can't return it beause the store is far away from where I live, but I can give it to someone that can return it to me. If I have them return it to the store with the original receipt will they refund it to the credit card?

you'll have to call the store and ask 'em.
some stores keep cc info, some don't

The problem is there are two names ont he card and only one card. Can the other person on the card return it?

Chances are that they'll need the actual card to do the refund. Doesn't matter who's name is on it, the little dohicky with the swiping slot probably needs the card to do the transaction.

Completely merchant dependent.

Last three returns I've done I didn't need my card to be reswiped (Sears, Kmart, and Sam's Club).

Ya, that's what they've done every time I've returned something with a credit card.

a) that wasn't a crisis.
b) You fail. Generally speaking, of course.

Not always... I just did it at Target the other day w/o the card, and have done so at other stores as well...

a) It was a crisis because if I couldn't return it then it would just be sitting in a closet.
b) You fail...not generally speaking, at life.
Sorry. Just felt like I had to defend myself because I've been panicking all week about this. Sorry again.
