I bought a house 6 months ago and got a letter in the mail the other day from a previous owner. It looks like its from a collection agency. How do I send the letter back to the sender letting them know that this person does not live here any longer?

Don't know if you can do this in the US, but in the UK I'd just write "Return to Sender - No longer at this address" and pop it back in the post box.

I usually take a black sharpie and write
Return to Sender
Addressee Unknown

across the address area.
Drop in the mail and let the PO take care of it.
