I just picked up RTCW, $29.91 price matched at CompUSA thanks to Circuit City ad.

I wanna play online... i loved playing CounterStrike... and from what i've read.. it seems as good as CS.

Does ATOT have a server they play? Perhaps Neo is running a RTCW server? 😉

If not.. where do you guys find yourself playing??

 
i usually just play on the first server i see in the list search that has a low ping and a good amount of players. The only downside is if your team really sucks, the game is not much fun. its hit or miss. a anandtech server would be fun though...
 
I usually do a refresh and pick the lowest ping with a ample amount of people. However, when I find room open in the server called "Lots of Punz" or something along those liines, I play there. Its 30+ people server and the compitition is good 🙂
 
i have found that servers vary from day to day. I play on a server called Not-DSL a lot and somedays its great, other times, I feel like shooting my teammates myself....

every been on a team where halk your team decides they all wanna be snipers....just makes me wanna scream..
 
Neo hosted a server for a day or two right after the multiplayer test was released but we didn't get too many players. I do the same as everyone else, pick the one with the lowest ping and decent amt. of players.

Maybe if we bug Neo enough (or ask politely 🙂 ) we could get him to host for us some time.

edit - okay, time for some sleep, I read it twice and still had to edit it. Damn 14 hour plane rides!
 
I usually pick a server that seems to have a good ping and take my chances. Perhaps once a week I could use my PC as an "ATOT CS" RTCW server for the evening. I have an Athlon XP 1900+ and DSL...would that work as a decent server for 20 or so people?
 
I try to pick a server that's close to me. I played on a server in Georgia that had a ping of 80, but I would often get a ping of 999 in game. Not fun. I usually try to find servers with over 20 people, as long as they're smart. 30 lieutenants running around throwing airstrike canisters is not fun.

i can't stand to play as an allied soldier, i love playing as an axis soldier. though i haven't played the game the game in a week or so.

i use gamespy to bring up a list of servers because i am behind a firewall.
