It kinda sucks after people got the hang of it .. games last like 30 seconds, very repetative and a bit boring actually. I like the graphics & the premise, but the implementation is a bit off

i thought it sucked :( very very laggy, very low framerates, very, imo, poor netcode. the aiming is total fubar. i am crouched, aiming at a guys head above me, and my round hits the ground? wtf is with that? lots of complaints, but i guess that's what it's for :)

My download hasn't finished yet :(, but keep in mind that this is like a pre-beta version of the game. To my knowledge, they have not told anyone when the final release will be, so they have no deadline to ship the game. The final version will probably be much improved.

3d Realms released a really old demo of Duke Nukem 3d (an awesome game at the time) just for fun after the real game had been out a while that totally sucked and had almost no resemblance to the final game. I'm hoping this will be like that.

I agree that one level gets old very quickly, but this is done so they can test the game on many more configurations than they could ever test in-house.

For the guy complaining about the lag, make sure you set your network settings to lan/cable/dsl....the rate setting will make a huge difference for you....this is basically Quake3's netcode, so you know its good!

On my system, a p4 1.7, Geforce 3, I can tell you that this is the best looking FPS game I have ever played....the player models are amazing....

Do yourselves a big favor and check out the readme file, as this is the first game from id with different character classes....the Lieutenant has binoculars, can call in air strikes, and can issue ammo paks....the engineer can use and disable dynomite, there is a medic, and there is a soldier....and if you haven't seen the flamethrower in action.....WOW...

I really think that with the already excellent single player focus this game had, and the newly added teamplayer focus on their multi-player side, this may be a game that puts a dent into the CS crowd.....

I have read that there is some Doom3 code in this game...not sure what it is...I think it may be something with the models....but that is just me....

I'm not a gamer and the last time I played castle wolfenstein was around 1980 on an apple 2. Anyone remember that version?

I played it last night for the first time....

I am VERY disappointed with the overall game play. I guess it reminds me too much of CS. With the way the game is now...I would much rather be playing T.O (yeah, I know it's just a demo).

This game is not like what was shown at the "Quake-fest."

-Moving along....

I agree with DocDoo but remember this is a pre-beta version. They need to expand the level and make the beach bigger and then make the inside bunkers bigger as well so games are longer. Remember as well that they have plenty of time to fix things up and that the single player is much hyped.

In a couple months hopefully we will get a demo of this game that shows off the full power.

Is that the one where you had to get out of the basement and there were locked closets that you could pick? And the rooms were kind of maze-like sort of like that really old coin-op Berzerk game? Or am I thinking of Beyond Castle Wolfenstein???
