How hard would it be to rip the laser disc version of those scenes and splice them into the DVD version anyway? Yeah, some color tuning and some other tweaks might be necessary, but who is really going to notice a drop in image resolution for a few seconds as long as the colors and everything else match up perfectly? Seems easy to do to me, provided you have a good digital rip of the original.

d00d lol do a seach on anand or google you will find many changes int he new dvds such as that, something about luke yelling was cut out, han solo originaly fired first int he cantina and it was change so where he fires later, etc, look it up

they made many many changes to the movies when they were re-released, but i find that one to be the most offensive.

That change never made sense to me. Obi Wan dies, Luke starts seeing old Obi-Wan. Yoda dies, Luke sees old Yoda. Darth Vader dies...Luke sees pubescent Vader???

How much you want to bet that when they re-release the movies to Blu-Ray DVD he screws with them again.

If Lucas really wanted to fvck with us, he'd release a new version that let you switch between two versions of the movie: One where Han fires first, and the other where Greedo fires first, but including the Jar Jar arm socket wookie scene.

I'm still waiting for Indiana Jones to make a guest appearence. i'm guessing hte box set for episodes 1-3 will have him in the ultra enhanced THXXX version.
