This one is getting me whacko soon.....listen to this...

I have bought following parts:
AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz
2x256 Mb RAM ORIGINAL
Fan
MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition 2.80/2.90 BIOS
Samsung SC-152 52X CD-Player
Iomega ZIP 250 EIDE
IBM 75GXP 30Gb

I have to start the computer with my power-cable (leave it out for a while and plug it in). I could start it up by hitting the on-button 200 times, but I find that annoying after some time. The power is constant in ON-mode..... My first thought was the power-supply. Bought a new one, same procedure! I went to my local computer-guy and asked him to test the system. The day after he called me and told that`s most certain the MB who`s failing.

I returned the MB and asked for a different one (ASUS). They mailed me yesterday and wrote that it`s no problem with the MB. (There goes 25$..)

Is it anyone who`s got a clue what`s going on with my computer.......should I return the lot or where do I start on monday when I recieve the MB?????

Desperate for help!!!!!!!!!!!
/Dan

Have you taken a look at your case yet? It sounds like you have a faulty power button.

I had the same problem with my KT7-RAID mobo. This is what fixed it for me:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why must I switch on and off and then on again to make the system boot?

If you have pencilled the L1 bridges on your processor in order to unlock the multiplier, then a poor connection can often cause this symptom. Try re-connecting the bridges and using conductive paint rather than pencil lead.

Otherwise this is due to corrupted data in the CMOS - particularly after a BIOS flash or after overclocking. This can be resolved by clearing the BIOS as follows:

Power off the system
Clear CMOS data using the jumper. Move the jumper from default 1-2 to 2-3 for several seconds then back to 1-2 again.
Power on the system and hit Delete to enter BIOS setup screen.
Set correct CPU speed in SoftMenuIII and your other settings. Save and exit BIOS setup screen
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you haven't overclocked, then clear your CMOS. Worked for me.
