Of course. One of the reasons for having a return policy is that people feel more comfortable buying gifts knowing that the recipient can return them for store credit. If Walmart didn't want that happening, they would have changed the policy, but they know that fewer people would be inclined to buy gifts there, which would cost them more.

I've seen a dude returning a live goldfish (swimming around in the bag of water) to Wal Mart.

I've also seen a dude with a car battery. He and his pal took it out to the parking lot and put it into the engine compartment. I don't know if it was the wrong size or what the deal was, but the battery was tall enough that the battery posts shorted to the hood when they tried to close it. The battery was dead, and he wanted his money back. He told this story to the lady at the counter, and she still took it back. :eek:
