"return a jew" infomercial, have you seen these???

I thought this infomercial was a joke but it turned out it wasn't. I was laughing non-stop for the first few minutes and then when they had Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell come on and preach the cause I knew it couldn't be faked 😕

I couldn't believe it at first. They overlayed it with an airplane seat and all sorts of stuff and my father and self thought I must have flipped to the comedy network but I didn't.

They want to "return" "ethiopian jews" and "russian jews" and you can help for as little as $350. Apparently (now this is according to Falwell and Robertson so take it with salt) it is the Christians responsibility too.

I don't know what to think of this--I realized that they only want to help them after realizing they were "jews" (the pocket group in Ethiopia).

I'm just wondered if anyone else has seen it (tonight was first time) and if they too, thought it was a joke of some sort.

what????

"return" as in return them to Israel, the place they've never been.

well not the individuals today, but basically they are being returned to their ancestral homeland.

anyways its good at least for the ethiopian jews, since a lot of them got separated from the rest of their family that was able to go to israel as part of operation moses.

Eh, they're God's chosen people right? So let Him take care of it.

Millions were killed in the holocaust, there needs to be some positive bias towards them for once.

hey! i was wrong and i take it all back! a movie theater really is a classroom!

I saw it and I found it offensive and condescending. They are using people as religious props to make themselves feel better. Notice how they don't want to bring the Jews to the US, just to Israel.

If someone wants to move to Israel, and someone else wants to help them get there, what's wrong with that?

If you don't want to help them don't. I don't see what the problem is.

They want to bring Jews to Israel for a reason. Israel is the Jew's homeland.

I am a Jew and Israel is no homeland of mine, thank you very much, no more than England is Anglo American's homeland, or Africa is African-American's homeland. You must be confusing Jews with Zionists. Most of these Jews in Eastern Europe would preffer to go to the US over Israel, my family certainly did. If you are curious, many Jews from Eastern Europe came to the US or Germany in the 90's. I know tonnes who went to Israel first and then to the US, but I have yet to meet one who came to the US and then immigrated to Israel.

Not only that, but if you look at the 3 richest people in Russia, they are all Jewish.

16. Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Russia, 40, $15, oil
25. Roman Abramovich, Russia, 37, $10.6, oil
73. Mikhail Fridman, Russia, 39, $5.6, oil

So the whole thing is getting kind of absurd.

I'm Jewish, I was born in the states, moves to Israel for a few years, then moved back here. There are PLENTY of Jews who have moved from the US to Israel.

Im sure the Ethpoian jews would rather live in Israel, than be persecuted and starved to death by their muslim rulers.

How is that different from Ethiopian non-Jews? 😉

Theres not. Im sure most of minorities in most african countries would want to get out of africa. You cant really export the christian minorities, to their "holy land" because the christian holy land is ruled by muslims, and it has been since the Persians and Turks took it over, from the Romans and Byzentines, before the founding of Islam. Sure control swapped back and forth during the crusades, but well the crusades were utlimately failures, after all only 3 of the 8 regained the holy lands.

Well, I personally don't know any. But I'll take your word for it. Most of our friends and relatives who went to Israel later came to the US. My main concern is the survival of the Jewish people. I think concentrating so many Jews in such a dangerous region is asking for disaster.
But my main problem with the commercial is that it's so exploitative. I am talking about old people weeping on camera, every tearjerker trick in the book. And also, the whole "4 Jews for $799" sounds so demeaning.

Yes it is dangerous, considering there was a loss in jewish population over the past couple years. Down marginally, but when theres not a whole lot to begin with, it doesnt matter the size of the loss.
